A drone whizzed by. Its clock read 20:54. I had been sitting next to the bed we placed Lane in since he passed out.

What happened to you...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The dark tendrils that had been clawing at me disappeared as Lane collapsed to the ground. Out of the three of us who remained two of us were still up, Kal and I. Hell more than just them were collapsed. Out of the 50 of us in the classroom only Kal, the General, the one they called Dorien, the Trinity chick, the pompous rich boy, and I still remained conscious.

Dorien stood proudly over Lane's limp body. "Can't even control his own power."

"Yes. It's a pity that ended so quickly. I have yet to lose breath." Winston looked down at the body not with concern but rather disappointment.

Trinity felt it necessary to chime in. "He's quite cute as he sleeps."

"I can't believe you have a liking to such a weakling. It's sad for a Royal."

"What's sad for a Royal is lion who's to prideful to admit his own feelings."

"The hell you talking about?"

A Royal...

I watched the three. The one who called himself Winston was a young man dressed in a purple suit. He appeared lean but healthy. His hair was well took care of and ended at his shoulders.

Winston... from what I saw he uses wind magic...

My attention moved to the lion. He was a very strong lion. He stood at a height of six feet with broad shoulders that sat outside of his black sleeveless top. His fur was an intriguing mix of gold, red, and orange. In addition to the sleeveless top he wore a pair of oddly clean white jeans. His very being seemed to radiating regally.

Keagan called him "child of Dawn"...

My eyes then drifted to the women. She was stunningly beautiful. Her face was well-shaped and body curvy but not too skinny. Her skin was a dark pigment that seemed to contrast exquisitely with her gold hair and seemingly gold eyes.

Trinity... she seemed to be a light mage... Wait... "Royal"? They're the Royal bloodlines! The Travis family, wielders of the deathly powerful wind magics. Current heir Winston Travis. Trinity Adams heir to the Adams family and one of the most notable light mages of all time. Then there's Dorien... Dorien of the Dawn Tribe. Next chieftain and noted for being able to utilizes so much magical potential that he rivals the anonymous X division of the military.

Dorien kicked Lane in the side of the ribs. I winced as a pain throbbed in my side. "Such a waste of air."

He kicked him again. This time it was harder. I let out a cry of agony.

"That's enough soldier!" The General stopped. He seemed to have been more gentle in comparison to before. "That's not a way to treat your comrades."

Dorien looked back. "Comrades? These two sorry excuse for 'magical warriors'?" He gestured to Keagan and Lane. "As if they'd be of any use on the battlefield."

"Mind your tongue or you'll lose it around me."

"Whatever you say."

The professor walked over to Lane then slung him over his shoulder. I was finally able to make out his features. Earlier he moved like lightning which made it possible. Then there was the episode with Lane which caused us all too much agony to pay attention. Now that I had breather though I was able to pick out the details. The General was not too tall nor short. He seemed to be about 5' 10'' with a powerful physical demeanor. His face was leaned with a black goatee that was connected with a two chin straps. Don't ask me what that is called because I couldn't tell you. His hair short cut in the common military style. His eyes were easy to make color out of because of how dark of a purple they were.
