I found myself standing in the spiritual plane from before. Speaking, my ouwat made himself known to me, "So... four have been revealed and the first trumpet has been sounded. I have to ask you, will you be ready to do what must be done when the time comes?"

I stared at the ground, my fists clenched and ears back, "I don't know..."

"You're letting your feelings get in the way of your duty watkai," I closed my eyes, fighting tears, "Were we ouwai wrong in entrusting this to you?"

I opened my eyes staring aimlessly at my reflection in the water, "Is there truly no other way?"

I drew my gaze to the ouwat as he spoke, "For now, no. You mortals are known for being unpredictable though." He watched above us, his eyes deep with thought, "I just wonder how long until he realizes."

"The first trumpet wasn't enough?"

"It may or may not have been. He's been asleep since the first seal broke."

"What does all this even mean?"

He drew his eyes to me, "Did the old man not explain it enough to you?"

"He explained it. However, I didn't have the opportunity to ask questions."

There was a smug look on his face, "I suppose it will all unravel in due time. Don't let us down, child of Shane."

My surroundings faded.

Will I be able to do what must be done...

My eyes woke to the ceiling of a tent.

Four of the angels... Can this even be stopped...?

Keagan rolled over, wrapping his arms tenderly around me, "Mornin'."

I felt awkward almost na- I lifted the blankets up so I could peer down under them.

Oh Christ... I forgot that happened...

I went completely flush with red, smirking. Of course, not that I could forget something like that...

The memories of copulating with Keagan flashed through my head, my smirk becoming a huge smile and my face, seemingly more red. I covered my face with my hands.

"You know... you keep looking like that and I'ma start thinking of round two..." I turned my head his way. He was grinning.

I can't believe they even let us in the same tent...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We hung around in the chair burying the dead while we waited for Keagan to come to consciousness. When he woke he had no idea what had just happened. We told him everything we could.

"I can't believe I..."

I gave him a peck, "It's alright. You were just protecting yourself and us. Just... don't do that again."

He smiled, "No promises."

After we had buried all the bodies we tended to the wounds of the one survivor, the leader of the mob. Unfortunately, he was badly injured with nearly no life Randal barely prevented his death by utilizing his blood magics. We made sure he was comfortable then headed off to the military camp once we were certain it was safe to travel outside.

When we arrived at the military camp, our thoughts whirred with the idea that the worst happened to it. But nothing seemed to have changed. It was just the same as when we left it on our mission to recover Lane.
