I know, two chapters in a row, but honestly, I feel bad for letting you down plus I want to get over the boring parts.

As always, hopefully you're going to enjoy!

The glass shattered as the waitress was stumbling right next to my table, spilling the water on the customer who was dining next to me.

I couldn't help but smile a little at her clumsiness, even though I felt sorry for her.
I watched as she tried to calm the man down, who obviously was in rage.

I had to admit, kind of ridiculous. It's just been water, no sticky, sugary beverage. And to me, the waitress of the restaurant in Koh Lipe appeared truly sorry.

As she turned around to get new paper towels, I saw her face for the first time.

It was a fine, feminine face, she had a small nose and full lips, and her blond hair was tied back into low ponytail.

Even though the unfortunate situation she was in, she appeared relaxed, ignoring the raging customer.

I wasn't the type of guy to care for other people's buisness and if that had happened in the states, I'd probably been annoyed.

Maybe it was because I was in a good mood. I just had bought a house, got everything ready and now I was sitting here, trying to relax, all on my own.

I turned to the man who was still talking to himself, and as the waitress came back, she - again - happened to be his victim.

"Hey man", I spoke up, looking at him.
"It's just been water and she's sorry"

Silence, before he stood up, shaking his head.
He didn't say a single thing.

It didn't take long until he left.
The waitress turned towards me, smiling quickly before getting her notepad.

"Thank you", she said, "I really hate dealing with that kind of customer. And usually, I'm not that clumsy", she laughed slightly.
"So what may I get you?"

"Uhm - ", I started thinking, "just a water maybe".
I was pretty thirsty from the heat.

The woman nodded and scribbled something on her pad, and while she was doing so, I watched her intensely.
She was tanned, also not from here for sure.
I noticed her biting her bottom lip, like she was holding back a laughter.

I didn't know why but I felt me doing the same.
I didn't know why I was feeling so light and happy.
But it just came over me.

"What?" I asked and laughed out loud as I looked at her, "you're grinning"

Her green eyes glared at me, full of joy.
"I don't know - I'm sorry" she said and all of a sudden, the room was filled with her laughter, super loud but absolutely infectious.

I couldn't help myself laughing with her, and for a moment, we didn't do anything else.
I didn't even care that other people looked at us.

"I've just been thinking about you might have ordered water in case I spill it again" she admitted.
"Maybe", I shrugged.

She disappeared and I couldn't help myself but smile.
It was stupid, honestly. Socialising wasn't what I needed right now. I was about to hide. And I couldn't afford having friends.
But in that moment, I didn't care about a plan or anything.
In that moment, all I cared about was that woman.
I didn't even think about what would happen if we got closer. What I was going to tell her about myself.
All I knew was that I wanted to get to know her better.

As she came back with the water and placed it safely in front of me, I nodded.

"I'm impressed", I said.
She smiled.
"Thank you"
Before she turned around, I spoke up.
"Hey... I feel pretty stupid, but I'd like to get to know you" I blurted out, and I felt the heat rise in me.
That wasn't what Chase would do.

"Fine"
"I'm Lelani, and you?"
"Clyde"

I said it out loud. Clyde. And it felt so much better.

•••••~•••••

Now I had figured it out. My plan was not perfect, super risky, to be honest, but I had figured it out.

I had nearly everything transferred to a bank account in Mexico.
And that was obvious, for sure. However, even if people would investigate, no one would find me in Mexico.
The money from the bank account in Mexico had been invested already, into a small company in Switzerland, that was non existent. And well, that company had invested into a small company, as well, in Bangkok. And someone had to pay their employees, right?

However, if everything worked out, they wouldn't even check on my bank account.

Now, my plan was to disappear by the beginning of next month.
At that time, I would've paid everything from last month, water and electricity. And I wouldn't use anymore of it, so I definitely wasn't in debt.
That was essential.
But, even better, by the beginning of next month, next week to be precise, we'd be racing in Charlotte.

The perfect place to disappear.
The White River was famous for its high suicidal quota and people wouldn't suspect anything if they didn't find a corpse.

I even had gotten a prepaid phone so that they couldn't trace me back.
The only thing that was left to do was to write a letter.

I felt someone nudging me with his elbow.
It was my teammate, as we were sitting in the drivers' meeting.
"You're supposed to listen", he said, obviously because the official had asked him to tell me.

"I am", I murmured, a little ticked because everything was annoying me again, and I felt getting moody, but mainly because I wanted to appear disinterested and unhappy.

"What the hell is wrong with that kid?"
"He's clearly looking for attention. He's ungrateful"

They were talking about me. I could hear the guys behind me talking about me.
My plan was working perfectly.
