"I'M EXPECTING a lot from this new project with you, Mr. Montecillo."

I nodded. "You will never regret your decision for accepting our proposal, Mr. Reyes." I smiled with gratitude. There are no words enough to describe how thankful I am sa pagtanggap nito sa business proposal namin.

"It's great to hear that!" He paused at the moment and took his phone. "Oh, by the way, my wife is calling me. I'll go ahead now. Thank you, Mr. Montecillo." Nakangiting pahayag nito and offered me a hand. Masaya ko namang tinanggap ito.

"Carmella," Pagtawag ko sa sekretarya ko, at mabilis naman itong lumingon sa pwesto ko. "Please escort Mr. Reyes out, thank you." I commanded and she nodded.

After they strolled out, napasandal na lamang ako sa aking swivel chair and took a portfolio to read documents. I feel so energetic today, the fact na mas maraming investors ang pumiling mag-invest sa kumpanya made my smile so bright.

Napalingon naman ako nang bumukas ang glass door, and my smile suddenly fade away nang makita ko kung sino ito. No other than my college best friend, Jayden who is taking a path on my place while his hands are inside his pockets.

Ibinaba ko ang hawak kong document. My bright smile is completely gone stared at him, emotionless. "What brings you here?"

"Wala ka man lang hi or hello?" Sarkastikong tanong nito and sat at the chair in front of my table. "Big time ka na talaga, bro. Biruin mo muntik pa akong makipag-away sa gwardya at secretary mo para lang makapasok ako dito."

Napailing na lamang ako sa sinabi niya. "Siguradong mangungutang ka nanaman. I lend you thousands last week, right? Bayaran mo muna 'yon bago ka makipag-usap sa akin." Prangkang sagot ko.

Natawa naman siya. "Hindi ako nagpunta dito para mangutang," Kumunot naman ang noo ko at muling ibinaling ang atensyon ko sa hawak kong portfolio.

"Besides, I came here for something else."

Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ko. "What is it? Spill." I asked without throwing a look at him.

"Look, bro." Panimula niya and cleared his throat. "Balita ko may gaganapin na auction somewhere in Pampanga."

Muling kumunot ang noo ko. "Okay? Does that have anything to do with me?"

Naparolyo naman ang mga mata niya. "Don't you get my point? Syempre, maraming businessman ang pupunta ro'n 'cause I heard they're selling various types of good quality items." Maikling sagot niya.
