Four was still dumbfounded by the statement he heard. A variable? Here? He did not understand, so he got up and approached the crowd a bit closer than last time. Looking though the other numbers was hard, since they closed in and surrounded the "variable". Four squinted though the crowd.

And there, he saw him.

A bright yellow x, looking like a nervous wreck. Four stared in amazement, interested in what the x was going to say. "They do exist. I thought they were just stories Mr. Zero used to tell me when I was younger." He whispered under his breath. If the other numbers noticed him, they were sure to send him away, so being quiet was his only option.

The x looked around at the crowd, trying to think of a response to the question. Sweat marks began to form on his head so Four assumed he had minor anxiety. He glanced around the crowd. . .and noticed Four.

Their eyes interlocked, a soft light being emitted off of them. The other numbers vanished, and the space around the two expressions changed to a galaxy. Four was startled by the occurrence. He was not sure if he was tripping out, or if he was actually seeing what he saw. He did not even know if the x saw the same landscape, or if the x was just confused from the face Four was probably making. It was then that Four realized something.

The x's eyes are blue.

That thought seemed to send him back to reality. Back to the school and the crowd. The x came back to reality as well, blinking once and looking around in confusion. He looked at Four again, exchanging the same confused look.

Four then looked up, and saw that all the other numbers were looking at him as well. The facial expressions were just as he expected: annoyed, disgusted, and worried. Four's confusion turned into frustration, glaring at all the numbers. His hands balled into fists, and he began to tense up. "Why are you guys looking at me like that?"

"Isn't it obvious, Four? No one likes you around."

Four turned around and his face turned into a snarl.

There, in the doorway, stood a black colored seven with grey limbs. His arms were crossed while he leaned on the doorframe. His face was curled into a snarky smile. He was making direct eye contact with Four, then looked down at the x in the center.

"Hmm, a new member", Seven stated while uncrossing his arms. He walked over to the x, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Hey "x"? Is he bothering you?" Seven said while pointing at Four. Four glared at Seven, then looked down at the x, loosening his glare.

The x looked up at Seven, than at Four. "Uh-"

"Four, look at him, your presence is making him uncomfortable. He can't even look at you straight in the eye," Seven replied.

Four looked down at the x in disbelief. The x looked up at the tall black figure, then at Four. His blue eyes making contact with his yellow ones for a split second, and then looking away with more sweat forming on his head. Suddenly, the x bent down slightly, putting a hand to his head.

The other numbers glared at Four, with Five and Three bending down to help the x out. More begain to make sure the x was ok and was not hurt. Suddenly Four realized that his eyes were spiraling. With a squeeze of his eyes, the spiraling stopped, and he put a hand to his head in exhaustion.

Four looked at Seven with annoyance. He was sure that Seven would accuse him of being hostile at the x, even though Seven was actually being hostile towards him. Seven then pointed at the x. "See?" he said crossing his arms, and having a slight smile on his face "You should leave."

Four's face formed into a snarl again. Seven always hated him, and since he was popular, he was able to get everyone else to as well. Their relationship was always negative, to the point where Four stopped trying to get along with him, and eventually tolerate him. He always felt an anger build up in him anytime he saw his annoying face.
