Fallon looked incredibly embarrassed, you could almost see a look of regret glazing over her eyes like a winter frost . Amidst all of the fuss of the last few days she had completely forgotten to update Monica on the whole thing.
"I need to talk to you Fal..." Monica spoke slowly as if with intention not to get the situation heated too fast. She did seem frustrated though.
Fallon felt her head roll into the palm of hand and she stood up, whisking the glass of chardonnay off the counter beside her.
"Yes I suppose i'd better, fill you in, as it were" she said sarcastically. Tipsy.
Gracefully stumbling across to the steps of the manor, following Monica, Fallon skimmed her brain for what excuse she could use for not telling her best friend everything.
Distracted, Fallon walked into Monica, who had now stopped and was standing, arms folded.
Looking up in frustration at the fact that she had spilt her wine, she greeted her friends unimpressed look.
"So... I can explain..." She mumbled.
Monica stared at her impatiently.
"In all honesty i didn't think you'd approve..." she continued.
Monica looked appalled at her poor excuse of an explanation, "Fallon why on earth wouldn't I approve. You know i'm bisexual, I of all people would get you."
Fallon looked shifty and rubbed the back of her neck in nervousness. Unlike her to be frank.
"Well it wasn't exactly that..." Fallon repositioned her stance to prevent her from wobbling over in the uneven grass. " I mean by now I figure you've guessed that me and Kirby are kind of like a thing."
Monica realised what she was trying to say and interrupted her, moving closer and dropping the facade.
"If you think I'd be upset just because I don't like Kirby, I don't mind, seriously like, date who you want I'll just stay away from her as much as I can."
Fallon looked almost relieved, part of her was confused. In the past, the arguments between Kirby and Monica had been horrendous. Throwing things horrendous.
"Are you sure? I don't want to make you uncomfortable but at the same time I have to think about Kirby too," Fallon replied.
Monica rolled her eyes in a friendly manner and leaned in to hug her friend. Fallon was taken aback slightly by the sudden change of heart and nearly tumbled over.
Monica squeezed her tight to let her know they were ok and stepped back, allowing Fallon to breathe again.
"Don't even worry about it Fal," she said, " Look i'm even going to walk over there and tell her we are gonna be ok and try to get along." She gestured over to Kirby still stood by the open bar.
Fallon pulled a face but nodded in agreement.
Both of the girls slowly walked over to Kirby, who was lapping up all the alcohol she could to get her through being in the same place as Monica.
Monica stopped about a half metre away from Kirby and sighed as she let out," Fallon isn't gonna be ok unless we're ok, you get it?"
Fallon was staring at her, forcefully urging her girlfriend using only here eyes. Terrifying. But she knew Fallon wanted her to try at least.
Kirby wavered, momentarily glancing upwards in the hope God might magically send a flying monkey to remove the frizzy haired bitch completely. Alas, he did not.
"Fine," Kirby mumbled under her breath," I'll try but no guarantees, if you annoy me in even the slightest or piss Fallon off again, I will end you." Kirby's crazy, overprotective girlfriend eyes were lasering holes into monica's face by this point, taking her hardly by surprise.
This was Kirby Anders after all. They all knew she was capable of much worse...
