Simon ran his fingers through his hair for the thousandth time. At that moment it was already a disaster.
The man had suspended BGT auditions because of David (because BGT without David wasn't BGT) and instead was attending to some SyCo business in his work office, but he really couldn't concentrate.
It had been three days since the accident.
David suffered a mild trauma to the brain from the blow, but nothing that can't be fixed with treatment. He was still in a coma, however, the doctor had said he would soon wake up.
And when that happened, they would call him.
"Bloody hell," he murmurs, rising from his seat to go to the views that the height of his building gave him.
Kathleen, if Simon wasn't misinformed, was waiting for David along with Alesha and Amanda. He was so immersed in his thoughts that it took him long to realize that his cell phone was ringing insistently.
He says rudeness and clumsily answers the call.
"Is this Mr. Cowell?"
Simon confirms.
"To inform you that Mr. Walliams just woke up and..."
"I'm on my way," he interrupts and hangs up without much thought.
He takes the coat that was resting on his seat and with big steps, he goes to the exit. Everything was going well: Simon already imagined what their meeting would be like, surely he would embrace him tightly while filling his face with kisses... a smile appeared on Simon's lips. Soon.
He was about to call the elevator when a thick voice stops him.
"Mr. Cowell? Where are you going? The meeting with ... is about to begin," the man frowned.
"I'm going to the hospital," answers the dark-haired man, calling the elevator.
The man looks more confused.
"Everything all right?"
Simon nods, staring desperately at how slowly the elevator was going up.
"Yes, but it's important that I'm there."
"Sir, is David Walliams, isn't it?"
Simon bit the inside of his cheek.
"You know that this meeting is very important, it will greatly influence the future of SyCo. I think you should consider attending it first."
Cowell was starting to get angry. Why does he question it so much? He's the boss after all.
Finally, the elevator doors opened and he was about to enter when the producer says:
"I'm just saying that Mr. Walliams could understand your priorities. After all, he is his friend, isn't he?" he looked at him seriously.
Simon confronts his companion, who seemed to be concluding.
A thorn of fear began to bother him. He didn't want to be discovered. It could be fatal.
And going against his strong desire to go with his David, he decides to stay.
