Simon Cowell arrived at the hospital, red from the fatigue that had caused him to run from the parking lot to the entrance. He was old...
He didn't need any directions: he still remembered how to get to his room.
Three hours ago David Walliams had woken up and Simon couldn't be more desperate to see him.
"Simon, hello!" Amanda and Alesha greet him, each giving him a kiss and a hug.
"Girls. I need... David..." the words came out of his mouth in babbles, but who could blame him? He was only a few meters away from seeing his beloved.
The women's expressions darkened and Simon felt anguish invading his chest.
What was going on?
Amanda gave Alesha a quick look before she spoke.
"Simon... we have something to tell you about David."
The older man opened his mouth and blinked several times. He didn't look well, and Dixon took his arm kindly.
"Don't worry Simon, he's all right. It's just..."
Alesha hesitated.
"What the hell happened to him?!" Cowell raised his arms.
"David woke up with amnesia," Amanda said.
.
.
.Simon took a breath of air and entered the room.
"The doctor told us that amnesia was common after suffering a blow to the head."
He felt his heart pounding hard against his chest as he slowly came to discover David. He was nervous.
"He can't remember 'recent' things, but it's a problem that has no rules: there can be exceptions."
David was talking to his mother, but as soon as Simon was in sight, he smiled broadly.
"My Simon came to visit me! What is it, Christmas?" The comedian's voice sounded deeper than normal, but it wasn't something Simon disliked.
On the contrary.
The woman gets up from the couch and greets Simon with a hug.
"I'll get some water, I won't be long," said Kathleen, placing a kiss on her son's forehead before left.
"Come on, Si, come and make me happy." Walliams patted a space on the stretcher.
Simon chuckles and sits on the edge of the bed. David wasn't content and grabbing him by the waist, brings him closer to his lap. Cowell blushes.
"D-David no..."
"Yes, I feel good, thank you" the man takes him stronger from the waist so Simon didn't escape "just a little confused, with headache and I don't remember many things".
Simon stops trying to escape and looks at him intensely.
"Maybe he didn't forget you and... you know what."
David was struck by the way Simon looked at him but limited himself to wandering around the (for him) perfect features of the Mogul musician.
Cowell took courage. He had to know. He had to know if David had forgotten.
"David... maybe you're tired of so many questions, but... Do you remember the restaurant xxx?"
That restaurant had a special meaning: there the two of them had had dinner (alone) and Simon told him about his feelings for him.
It had been the hardest thing he had ever done: confess his feelings. But he didn't regret it, and he won't regret it.
Walliams' answer would be the relief or pain of the man in his lap... and Simon had a bad feeling.
David tilted his head. He closed his eyes tightly and denied.
"Is it new?"
Something broke inside Simon.
