Jimin's tail wagged as he stared expectantly at the six wolves standing menacingly at the entrance of your tent. It was completely silent and you were almost certain that everyone could hear the frantic, erratic beating of your heart as it was pounding in your ears.

You eyed the furry ears on top of Jimin's head, seeing that the fur color matched that of his tail. You closed your eyes, internally screaming for getting yourself into this. You heard a spastic buzzing from the corner of your tent, several uneven vibrations before one steady one. You reached to the side to grab your phone, flinching back in fear when the smaller wolf snarled at you. He seemingly packed a lot of anger into his smaller stature.

"Yoongi, let her move! I told you, she's my mate, you don't have to be so defensive!" Jimin's voice sounded too much like the whine of a canine and you nearly cried. You tentatively reached for your phone again, that was still buzzing like crazy, and when no growls sounded you snatched it up, retreating back to your corner.

You glanced down at the screen, seeing that you had one single bar of service. You had no idea that you had any at all.

You looked at the messages that were constantly lighting up your screen, one coming in after another.

'Y/N, are you okay?!'

"Y/N, answer us!'

You checked the very first message that was sent, snorting at the frantic text.

'AN ENTIRE PACK OF WOLVES JUST STAMPEDED THROUGH THE FOREST RIGHT IN FRONT OF US AND THEY'RE HEADED TOWARDS YOUR TENT Y/N!!!!!'

'Yeah, I'm fine guys, they ran right past me. I'm going back to sleep for a bit, please please let me sleep in peace, I think a migraine is starting.'

You ensured that no one would come running to your tent before setting the phone down again. You only just tuned into Jimin's rambling once you did, trying to catch up.

"-and she just smelled so good so I came in here and she's my mate! I fell asleep, and we just woke up, that's why I didn't come back last night, I'm really sorry for worrying you guys. But I'm so glad I found her, we're gonna be with each other forever."

One of the larger wolves grunted, shifting back to a human who glared at you.

"Was that the police you just contacted? Animal control?"

"No, it was my friends-"

"So you were selling us out? Now they're gonna come here, and attack us, right? Nice try honey, we don't trust humans."

"No no no I swear! I told them that I had a migraine and to let me 'sleep' for a little while so that they wouldn't come over and see you guys! I wouldn't sell you out, I swear."

"Prove it then. Show me that you didn't tell anyone about us."

You unlocked the phone, clicking on your messages app and turning the screen for the man to see. His brows furrowed as he read and reread the message that you had sent, finally regarding you with a much less malicious, but still suspicious look.

"You really aren't gonna report us? From what I heard, Jimin wasn't exactly conventional with his approach, but I know he'd never hurt someone that he cared about. He might be wrong about you being his mate," This statement was met with loud protests from Jimin, "But a wolf is usually pretty sure."

"Well I'm certainly surprised, but I'm not gonna go crazy and report you guys or anything like that. I swear, I don't want to cause any trouble."

He narrowed his eyes before looking away, shaking his head and looking back at you, holding his hand out for you to shake.

"My name is Namjoon. Jimin said your name was Y/N, right?"

"Yeah, nice to meet you Namjoon." You shook his hand and his nose twitched, he pulled your hand a little bit closer to his face before inhaling, then letting your hand go. You pulled it back, awkwardly folding your hands together as one of the other wolves transformed. A bright, grinning boy emerged, contrary to the surly wolf that had been there before, and he scooted closer to you with a blinding smile.

"I'm Hoseok! I'm so happy that Jiminie found his mate, and I'm glad it's someone like you! You seem so nice and happy and like you'll be a good mate!"

You stuttered slightly, tripping over your words as you tried to form an adequate response to all that Hoseok had said. He just laughed, reaching out and pinching your cheek lightly before retreating and sitting down cross-legged where he had been standing as a wolf. The others transformed, the smaller one in the front, you think Jimin had called him Yoongi, becoming a grumpy-looking man with a pout on his face as he slightly glared at you.

"I still don't understand why I had to be pulled out of bed at 9 in the morning. He's fine, can I leave?"

"Yoongi, no! You fell asleep at seven last night, directly outside the packhouse before you even got started hunting. You've had enough sleep." He pouted even further at this and flopped over, tugging your discarded sleeping bag over and around him in a last ditch effort to get some rest. You would have protested the intrusion in any other circumstance but trying to pry an angry werewolf out of your sleeping bag wasn't an ideal situation.

One of the other taller men approached you, getting closer than you would have liked and wrapping you in a hug. You stiffened, trying to relax in his hold as he dug his nose into your hair. You felt his breath puff against your scalp as he smelled you before Jimin pulled you away.

"Taehyungie, don't! She's my mate, back off." He playfully bared his teeth at the younger and Taehyung did the same in return. You were worried that they might begin to fight, all in good fun, but still dangerous. A hand on your knee broke you out of your trance and you met Namjoon's eyes once more.

"Okay Y/N, well, we should get going, and you can meet everyone else on the way back. Do you have all of your stuff packed and ready?"

"Packed and- Where am I going? I'm staying right here, I'm camping here with my friends, they're worried-"

"Just forget about that for right now, we'll take care of it. We're taking you to our packhouse."
