You sat in your seat, hands fiddling with the edge of the case on your phone as Jimin drove. Your eyes stared at the floor of the vehicle, answering Jimin's attempts at conversations as they came.
"What's your favorite type of food?"
"A little bit of everything."
"Oh."
"You?"
"Meat. Sometimes raw. It's good, I swear!" You let out a small laugh at the stereotype and twiddled your thumbs.
"What's your favorite movie?"
"Twilight." You decided to tease the boy beside you, he actually stopped the car on the side of the road and turned to face you with a horrified expression.
"Not Twilight!"
You burst out laughing, "No, of course not! I was just messing with you."
"Oh thank god. They're so inaccurate with their portrayal of us, we're not like that!"
Laughing with the man felt nice, you concluded.
"Do you like popcorn? We can get some at the movies. And candy, I'll get whatever you want."
"Jimin?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I tell you something?"
"Of course!"
"I'm scared."
He once again pulled to the side of the road, turning to face you with furrowed brows, "What do you mean. Of what?"
"Of this whole situation. It scares me to think that maybe this is all real, that you're a werewolf and that we're mated. So many things could go wrong, especially if you were just lying to me. I've had enough proof that you're not, I watched your body turn into a wolf's, I'm just terrified. What if I was hallucinating? What am I gonna do about lying to my friends? Twenty-four hours ago if anyone had told me, while I was setting up camp in the woods, alone, that I'd meet a werewolf, that I was apparently 'mated' to, I'd have driven them to an asylum myself."
"I don't know what else to do to get you to believe me. I'd leave, so that we could both feel the pain that comes with your mate not being around, that'd be good proof, but we'd both suffer from that. Please, just trust me. I know it's hard, but it's worth it. I can make you happy, I know I can. It's what mates do. They're meant to be together, destined. The universe wouldn't have mated us together if we weren't able to make each other happy. Just trust me."
His words were soothing and you nodded, sighing and looking him in the eye.
"I'm willing to try. I just don't know where to start."
"Where do humans normally start?"
"Dinner and a movie. Which is what we're doing."
"Well then, let's go."
He began driving again, eventually reaching up and offering you his hand. You took it, lacing your fingers together and resting them on the center console. He almost had to take his hand back driving down through the forest paths, but he ended up getting you safely through the winding roads. It was almost an hour later when you finally arrived to the restaurant, a small diner that you'd become accustomed to going to after camping. You each ordered a burger, Jimin ordering his nearly raw, though the waitress didn't question. You each ate your food, sometimes laughing as the burger fell apart due to the lettuce crammed between the ingredients. Jimin ended up handing you half of his fries, holding them near your mouth and wiping your mouth clean as some of the grease was smeared on your cheek.
Finally, your food was gone and you declined dessert, getting back in the car and leaving for the movies. You decided on the current Disney movie, getting your tickets and grabbing popcorn and candy. You got skittles, while Jimin got M&M's, offering you some before he even took one himself.
You have to admit, you cried through a little bit of the movie. It was just so sad. Your tears flowed down your cheeks and you sniffled to yourself, Jimin's head turning at the sad sound. He let out a whine, one that snapped you out of the movie and had you turning your head frantically to see if anyone cared about the animalistic sound that the man next to you had just produced. They didn't care so you turned back to Jimin, a hand on his thigh as you tried to see him through the low light.
"Are you okay?"
"Are you?"
"What? Yeah, I just- The movie was sad, what happened?"
"I was worried, you sure you're okay?" You glanced back to the screen at his words, tearing up again.
"Yeah, it's just... 'S so sad."
He cooed at you, wrapping an arm around you and wiping your cheeks with his thumb. You leaned into his touch, letting his palm engulf your cheek entirely. He leaned forwards, forehead pressing against yours as he stared into your eyes. You were the one to lean in, pressing your lips against his soft, plump ones. He responded gently, not wanting to scare you off. You leaned even closer, the armrest in between the two of you. You were content to sink into the moment when a bright light was shined in your face, you opened your eyes to see an angry middle aged employee.
"You two need to leave. You're disturbing the people around you. Come on, let's go."
Your cheeks burned as you were escorted out of the theater. Jimin gripped your hand still, leading you to the door and back to the car.
"Y/N, I.. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to.. I didn't mean to embarrass you like that." You looked up at his eyes that were full of regret and sadness but you only smiled back.
"Don't worry about it. I kissed you. I can get over the embarrassment, I never go to this theater anyways. Anyways, um, would you want to just come over to my house and we can watch a movie there instead?"
