Love for Coraline (by: booksmagicandfairydust)

She has no eyes,

Yet she can see,

She drew me in,

Now she follows me.

Long spiny fingers,

Turn into claws,

Teeth gleaming sharply,

Within her jaw.

'You know I love you,

Coraline, dear."

And I know she does,

As I tremble with fear

She really does loves me,

In her own twisted way,

And somehow within me

I find the courage to say

"Let's play a game,

Just you and me,

You win and I'll stay right here

I win, and I'll be free."

Her words fall out of her mouth,

Terribly wicked and cruel,

Button eyes gleaming,

She'll be there when you fall.

Once loving words

Burn and flare,

A searing fire,

Causing damage beyond repair.

'You know I love you,

Coraline, dear."

And I know she does,

As I tremble with fear,

She really does loves me,

In her own twisted way,

And somehow within me

I find the courage to say

"Let's play a game,

Just you and me,

You win and I'll stay right here

I win, and I'll be free."

Bright red nails,

Bone white skin,

She will lie,

She will sin.

Change and twist

Into someone you don't know,

Her only mistake

Was letting you go.

'You know I love you,

Coraline, dear."

And I know she does,

As I tremble with fear,

She really does loves me,

In her own twisted way,

And somehow within me

I find the courage to say

"Let's play a game,

Just you and me,

You win and I'll stay right here

I win, and I'll be free."

Her chilling shriek,

A blood-curdling scream,

You know she is not

Quite what she seems.

Stealing souls,

Feels no remorse,

She does the unexpected;

Takes her own course.

"You know I love you,

Coraline dear,

Stay here forever."

I do not feel fear.

"I will never love you."

The words stab like a knife,

"I will not stay here

for the rest of my life."

She will play dirty,

That much I can see.

But deep inside,

She really does love me.
