Ariel didn't really look at him until she got him onto the shore. She flopped him down into his back in the sand. The tip of her tail touche the water as she sat down next to him and peered down at him.
His handsomeness struck her, even though he was unconscious. His black was dripping and his drenched white shirt was torn.
Ariel was curious about him, she wanted to know what his name is, how he talked, smiled. She had never met, let alone seen a human in her life.
She reached down and touched his hair and then his face.
He stirred and his eyes slightly opened. Ariel jerked her hand away and she jumped back, but his eyes just closed. She relaxed and gazed down at him, she found herself enjoying looking at him.
“ERIC,” someone called.
Ariel jumped, they were close and he began to stir again. She hurried to the water and swam away quickly behind a rock in the water.
“ERIC, THERE YOU ARE.”
“Where did she go?”
Ariel’s heart stopped.
“Who?”
“The girl.”
“The girl? What girl?”
“A girl saved me, she was just here.”
“I didn't see a girl.”
“She was real.”
“Come, my prince, you need some rest.”
Ariel listened to their footsteps fade away before she peaked around the rock. “Eric,” she said to herself, “Eric saw me.”

“He was so handsome, Sebastian,” Ariel told him.
“Yes, yes it sounds like your in love.”
She looked at him, “Are you not happy for me.”
“HE IS A HUMAN, ARIEL.”
“And? He's still perfect to me.”
“You don't even know him.”
“I could.”
“Now your talking crazy talk.”
“I want to go back up there,” she said hastily.
“OH NO YOUR NOT.”
“Why not?”
“It's not save, and besides, your not human.”
Ariel sighed, “I wish I was.”
Sebastian looked at her but didn't say anything. They sat in silence for a while, and watched the ripples on the surface.
“What if I did change into a human,” Ariel finally said.
“Your father will never do that, child.”
“I wasn't talking about my dad.”
“And how else do you expect to do that?”
“Ursula.”
Just the one single name fired off Sebastian, “THE SEA WITCH? NO-NO-NO.”
“It's what I desperately want, Sebastian.”
“And you're willing to leave everything to be a human- even your family.”
“I love them, and if they want me to be happy, they will accept it.”
“I say no, you can not trust a sea witch, especially Ursula,” but she was already gone. He swam after her, “I’m supposed to babysit you,” he called after her, “which means I’m supposed to sit and watch you because you are the king’s baby. HEY, slow down!”
