In the morning, Sofia woke up—she was back in her private room, and her ankle was in a magic cast. Lady Melody was right by her side.
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty," Lady Melody smiled.
"Good morning," Sofia yawned.
"The surgery went very well, and this magic cast should help you heal within only a week—that's when your follow-up will be," Lady Melody said.
"Okay," Sofia smiled.
Later, when visiting hours started, Sofia's family came over.
"Sofia, I could barely sleep last night," James declared.
"Me too," Amber chimed in. "What did they say?"
"Thanks to this magic cast, within one week, I'll be good as new," Sofia smiled.
The whole family cheered, knowing Sofia would be okay in no time.
"Why isn't Hugo's family here to see you?" Amber asked. "We're in their kingdom."
"Hugo contacted me on my Enchantlet this morning—he said they'll be at Enchancia Castle later today," Sofia replied.
"Sounds good," Miranda smiled.
Later, Sofia was released from the hospital, and she was taken home to Enchancia Castle. Samira, Garrick, and Grimtrix were there already.
"Sofia, how do you feel?" Garrick asked.
"Fine, so long as I stay off my feet," Sofia replied.
"That's nice, dear," Samira smiled.
"Where are Hugo and Axel?" James asked.
"They're waiting in Sofia's room with some visitors," Grimtrix replied.
Roland, Miranda, Amber, and James took Sofia up to her room, where Hugo and Axel were waiting. There were many friends Sofia went to Royal Prep with. Prince Desmond was even there with his baby sister, Carrie, in his arms.
"How do you feel, Sofie?" Hugo asked.
"Fine, Hugo, thank you," Sofia replied.
Roland carefully put Sofia in bed, and baby Carrie reached for Sofia.
"You want to go with Sofia, don't you?" Desmond smiled. He carefully put Carrie in Sofia's arms.
"How's Carrie been lately?" Sofia asked.
"Fine," Desmond smiled. "Just a few weeks ago, she recovered from strep throat."
"Aw, bless her heart," Hugo said, putting his finger in Carrie's little hand.
"Yup, and all it took was a few doctor visits, some medicine, and a lot of support to get better," Desmond declared.
"And what Sofia needs to get better is rest and support," James smiled.
"And with this magic cast, I'll be all better in just one week," Sofia declared.
Carrie cooed happily, hearing this, and she clapped her hands.
"Yes, Carrie, it is a miracle," Desmond chuckled, which got Carrie to laugh with him.
"Aw, isn't that cute?" Hugo cooed.
"Carrie learned how to laugh before she got that strep—ever since then, she'd crack up at anything," Desmond smiled. "Yesterday, when I blew my nose, she busted a gut."
Carrie started giggling, and everyone joined in the giggle fest.
The whole week passed, and everyone supported Sofia the entire time. By the time the week was over, Miranda took Sofia back to the hospital where she'd had her surgery. Grimtrix was there, too, so he could magically remove that cast. Once there, Grimtrix magically removed Sofia's cast, and her ankle felt a lot better.
"It's good you feel better, Sofia," Miranda smiled.
"It feels good to be back on my feet, and now I know how Elena felt when she first got out of my amulet," Sofia chuckled.
At Enchancia Castle, many RPA friends were there.
"It's only been one week, but I can tell this summer is going to be the best," Hugo smiled as he held baby Carrie up.
"By the way, Hugo, until we go back to school, I think I'll stick to floor ringette," Sofia declared.
"Sounds fair to me," Hugo said.
"I certainly want this to be the best summer ever because this year is Carrie's first summer," Desmond declared.
Carrie cried out in happiness.
"I think Carrie already knows this will be the best summer ever," Sofia smiled.
"She takes after her big brother," Hugo smiled.
"She sure does," Desmond grinned.
Everyone knew this summer was going to be the best. It just goes to show that when it comes to illness and injury, one of the most important things someone needs is support from friends and family.
