TERRACE

Yoongi felt comfortable in the presence of his new neighbors, they were fun and wouldn't let him be left out of their conversations. 

The boys from the 201 - Matthew and Joseph - joined in bringing the cousins from the 102 - Jiwoo and Somin. The four seemed to be coupled up, as they kept flirting all the time, much to the chagrin of Namjoon who had just recently ended a relationship. Yoongi came to know that after one of the maknae's secretly commented on it before.

"Where are Hobi and Jin?" Somin questioned with a pout, looking around and stopping at the unfamiliar face among the acquaintances. "Oh, I don't think I know you."

"Do you think or are you sure?2 Jiwoo teased, making Yoongi smile at the sarcasm in his tone.

"JiJi, Minny, this is the 301's new neighbor, Min Yoongi." Taehyung introduced, pointing to the boy who remained seated and just raised his hand and waved it in a quick greeting. "Yoongles, these are the Jeon cousins: Jiwoo and Somin."

"Yoongles?" Yoongi questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Ignore him, he loves to give us all stupid nicknames," Joon muttered leaning back in his chair.

" My nicknames are not stupid," Tae whined, crossing his arms and pouting.

Quickly his companions surrounded him, hugging him and stretching an angry look at the neighbor who had annoyed the boy. Namjoon just rolled his eyes at the younger ones and continued eating.

"No one has answered my question yet," Somin spoke up again and Jimin was quick to answer this time.

"Seokjin is with his girlfriend and Hoseok is having dinner with Soora."

"The haunting of the 302." Matthew scoffed producing macabre sounds and making Somin let out startled shrieks as she hit the muscleman.

"Don't make those kinds of jokes around Hoseok, or he'll be ready to snap you in two with his stare." Joon pointed out, taking a chicken thigh and snapping it in two as a visual demonstration of what his flatmate would do to his neighbor.

"I was going to say that he wouldn't be able to, but after seeing his reaction today when the new neighbor joined in." Joseph pointed out, starting to speak without restraint and only then remembering that this same neighbor was present there.

"Why is he angry with you?" Jungkook questioned and Yoongi sighed.

Everything was so fine when he was not the main focus of the conversation. In an attempt to dodge it, he shrugged his shoulders and stuffed a large piece of sausage into his mouth. 

But as if to demonstrate that he would not escape that question, everyone stared at them in silence, waiting for him to finish chewing before he could speak. Frustrated he swallowed the sausage and sighed heavily.

"He wants me to leave the building." He confessed, at least a small part of his motives.

"Really? Why would he want that?" Jimin questioned confused.

2It's not like you don't know, Shin Soora!" Namjoon pointed and everyone looked at him in confusion, especially Yoongi who believed that the motives were different.

"What does this have to do with her?" Jiwoo questioned what everyone was dying to understand.

"For months the apartment in front of her was empty because Hobi begged the landlord not to rent it." He told, and everyone's eyes widened. "Having that apartment empty helps Soora-shi's illness to digress." Yoongi's eyes widened while the others just nodded, understanding.

What illness does the 302 neighbor have, and why was it necessary for the 301 apartment to be uninhabited? Still, though full of questions, Yoongi was finally able to make sense of the sudden reasons why Hoseok demanded that he leave from there, but his curiosity about Shin Soora only grew more and more.

"What do you mean?" He questioned, staring directly at Namjoon, who seemed to have all the answers.

"I don't really know what's wrong with her, Jin is her therapist, he knows more about it. All I know is that she never leaves the house. For anything! Hobi is the one who does all her grocery shopping, takes her garbage to the street, delivers to her the packages that come to our apartment because she doesn't even receive or answer people at the door." He clarified, denoting all his irritation on the subject in his tone of voice.

"Does she have an autoimmune disease? That would explain why she can't get in touch with anyone." Joseph pondered, scratching his chin thoughtfully.

"It's nothing serious, it's just one of those trendy illnesses, like depression, or whatever they're called," Joon spoke up and Yoongi's eyes widened at his neighbor's dismissal of something so serious

"Depression is not a trend, and it's very serious, Namjoon. You should have respect for people who suffer from mental illnesses because they are just as valid as any other illness." Jiwoo bickered, getting up from her chair and marching annoyed back inside the building.

After that unfortunate comment, the atmosphere became a bit tense and the guests began to disperse. Somin ran after her cousin and was followed by Joseph and Mathew. Namjoon eventually left too, irritated by the whole situation, leaving the boys from the 101 with Yoongi.

"Is he always like this?" He questioned, referring to the mood-ruiner who had just left.

"He wasn't. He used to be nice, but I don't think he's handling the breakup with the neighbor from the 202 very well." Tae explained with an embarrassed frown at the relationship being ruined.

"Let's face it, Ashley was way out of his league." Jimin let out a light laugh.

Yoongi abstracted himself from the topic of conversation that had been going on between the boys over Namjoon and Ashley, and just focused on what he had just discovered. 

Now the pieces of the puzzle were starting to fit together and make sense. Now he understood why Hoseok had said that Shin Soora resembled Jung Dawon. Still, there was a question hovering in his mind, was this sense of protection towards the 302 neighbor just a projection, or would his long-time friend have other kinds of feelings towards her?
