Digging into the floor of the car, Duke pushed the gas. He forward, it into more mud as Ryanne got covered in it.
"DUKKKE!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Duke chuckled to himself. They had gotten stuck on a dirt road after rain picked up. He sighed quietly.
"Okay, okay." He chuckled, "I'll run into town to get someone there." He left the car and bolted down the road in husky-wolf form. Ryanne sighed as she climbed into the car, Lin giggling slightly.
"Do you think we can get around front and start pushing it out?" Amora asked.
"We'd probably just get stuck in the mud ourselves," Terence answered.
"Okay. Let's have another vote. Who thinks we should personally revoke Duke's license through the power of friendship?" Amora asked.
"Does the dirt bike count on this one?" Lin asked.
"I dunno. Ryanne can determine that," Amora said.
"No, but yes." Ryanne grabbed Duke's wallet, quickly taking his driver's license and whisking it into the woods.
"And the roads are now a bit safer," Terence said. Jade chuckled at his comment, giving him a small pat on the head and kiss on the cheek. Lin yawned and leaned on Crofton, who was busy writing on in that letter of his.
"So. what do we do while we wait?" Amora asked.
"We should.... CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY!!" Ryanne cheered as she pulled out the card game from under a seat.
"Alright." Terence nodded.
"Whattca writing, Crofty?" Jae asked, peeking over his shoulder.
"A letter."
"To who?"
"Violet."
"Really?" Terence asked, tilting his head curiously.
"I don't even know if she really likes me or if she really feels pity. I guess... I'm scared of losing her." Crofton sighed. "I don't even like myself enough to believe she does like me. She never showed any true emotion... So I'm writing her a letter asking her, and saying I'm sorry."
"How are you gonna get it to her?" Terence asked.
"When we get back, I'm gonna put it on her desk." Crofton shrugged. "She'll find it."
"You could always send it to her over text, too," Amora said. "She has her phone. It's just, well, off."
"Think about it for a second." Ryanne chuckled. "Like really think 'bout it. Does she even want to hear from him right now?"
"There's no knowing unless we try," she replied. "RIght now, she thinks we're out to get her. Hearing that might be just the thing she needs."
"Hey." Duke appeared with a tow guy behind him. "Got us help." Once they got out, and Duke paid they began driving out of the town. Crofton had finally finished his letter, driving this time. He pulled into the drive, sighing deeply.
"So, what's our next move?" Terence asked.
"We're out of moves." Lin shrugged.
"Wait." Duke hummed as he looked over at Terence. "All we can do now."
"... Alright," he said.
"It's gonna be alright." Amora patted his shoulder. "It'll be alright." He nodded.
"Thanks," he said.
A few more days passed, Crofton had fixed up his writing. Had handed it to Terence to give to his sister, and Duke worked in the shop. He turned on the radio as he hummed to himself. Ryanne played on her phone as Lin leaned over Jade's shoulder to see him working on a painting of Violet, Terence, and his mother. Jae tapped her foot as she typed on her laptop, sitting on the loft part of the shop. Crofton quietly strummed his guitar as he hummed with it, laying across the couch.
