Lin and Duke walked down the street, watching the people pass by. She giggled as she noticed Jade and Terence chasing birds for a case they were working on about feathers from rare birds. Crofton walked by them, but a girl was with him. She had short, brunette hair, and bright green eyes. She was wearing an airy yellow top and blue jeans, along with a pearl on a golden chain around her neck. She seemed to be happy to be there. Crofton held her hand, smiling brightly as they passed the two. Lin shrugged it off, but Duke didn't. Once the two made it back to the hatch, they asked the rest of the gang.
"Have any of you seen Crofton with another girl?" Duke asked.
"A girl?" Jae looked up from her book, glancing back at Violet. "Once."
"That wasn't Violet?" Lin added.
"Then no." Jae shrugged.
"Huh," Terence said. "Maybe he met someone when he was visiting his uncle."
"Maybe." Lin shrugged but the hatch opened up and Crofton jumped down. He held out his arms to someone to jump into.
"Trust me, love. It's safe." He smiled at the someone. She giggled, then jumped down after him.
"Everyone, this is my girlfriend." Crofton announced as he turned around. Ryanne dropped a glass, sending it to the floor. Jae gasped, quickly pulling a file under the couch.
"Crofton, you know the rule." Ryanne reminded him as Jade caught the glass.
"Yeah, we didn't let Violet bring Vex down here," Amora added.
"Just be happy, I'm happy." Crofton smiled at his girlfriend.
"Well, just cause she's already down here, what's her name?" Jade asked.
"I'm Annabelle," she said, giving a bright smile. "You can call me Anna, though."
"How'd you two meet?" Jae asked, sitting up now. Crofton was going to speak but Jae beat him to it. "Anna, you tell."
"Amora, y'all know Vex is a bit different than this chick." Ryanne muttered.
"I know, but there needed to be some kind of example," she whispered back.
"Well, you see, I was wandering around a coffee shop nearby when I saw him sitting alone. He looked upset, so I decided to go and have a chat with him. Little did I know, we ended up just clicking!" She giggled. "It was like magic."
"Magic, huh?" Duke leaned over to Violet, "Something ain't right." He whispered.
"Yeah. I've got a bad feeling," she replied. "I feel like I know her from somewhere." Crofton nealt down and gave her a sweet short kiss, smiling at her. Lin looked over at Amber for a moment, beckoning her to come and speak with her in the office. Amber nodded and followed her.
"How is she?" Lin asked, sitting on the desk.
"Which one?" Amber replied.
"Violet, Amber. Violet." Lin dusted off the keyboard, sighing.
"To be honest, this is probably the best I've ever seen her." She sat down in a nearby office chair. "Ever since she started going to the Moonlit Cafe with Vex, things seem to have been turning up for her. I think it's good for her to be around more people who are going through the same thing as her."
"I thought so." Lin whimpered, "We aren't enough."
"Lin! Come here." Duke called out, Lin got up and left the room. Ryanne entered, crossing her arms.
"What's up with Violet and Crofton problem? Everytime someone ups and mentions Vex, Crofton gets tense and everytime someone mentions Crofton's blues Violet gets pouty. I need to know how to fix and what to fix it with. This problem ain't going away." Ryanne stated.
