The next day, as school was starting, Violet paused to speak with Vex for a moment.
"Since when did you transfer from the night program?" she asked.
"A few weeks ago." He shrugged. "It got hard to keep up with everything in the dark."
"Just to be with you." Lin teased as she poked the two. "That's the only reason you need, Vex."
"LIIIIN." Crofton whined as he wandered up, "GIVE ME MY HOMEWORK BACK."
"GOTTA GO FAST!" Lin squealed as she raced down the hall, Crofton following behind her at a slower pace.
"Well then." Vex watched them go.
"Hey, mind if I ask you something?" Violet asked.
"Knock yourself out."
"Am I crazy, or does Amber look paler than normal?" she asked as she walked over.
"She always look this pale." Jade laughed, "Just a part of Amber, not going into the sun."
"Jae, tell em he's wrong." Ryanne poked Jae, who was busy staring at Nate and Julian.
"No, this is different," Violet said. "Amber, is everything okay?"
"Something's wrong," she said flatly.
"What?" Violet tilted her head.
"I don't know. I just know something is," she replied. "Something is really, really wrong."
"Probably the fact that Vex is right next to us." Duke joked. "Man's always got a problem with someone."
"Hey-" he started to defend himself, but Amber cut him off.
"I'm not joking around," she stated. "Something is wrong, and we're in danger now. I just don't know what it is."
"We're?" Ryanne asked, "Now Am, you best not be kidding."
"Does it sound like I'm joking?" she replied.
"Okay, when a Fae says to worry about something like that, you should probably be concerned," Vex added.
"Ain't need to worry, we'll figure it out here now." Duke chuckled as he patted her back.
"We better..." She muttered.
"It ain't like it should be that hard." Ryanne chuckled as Jae blushed when Julian and Nate looked over.
"What is Julian even doing here?" Violet asked. "I thought he graduated."
"The alpha of a pack has certain rights to see the other members." Vex shrugged. "At least, that's what he told me. He might've just broken in and didn't get caught since he still looks so young."
"He's here to see Nate." Jae muttered.
"We noticed." Violet nodded. "He'll probably come over if he's here to see the pack members," she explained as he waved to Nate, then turned and walked over to a familiar girl with silver hair. Nate chuckled as he followed behind, seeing Violet.
"Hey, you two." Nate walked up, smiling. "Are you feeling better, Jae?"
"Way better!" Jae giggled before blushing.
"That's good." Violet nodded.
"How about that run we went on last night?" Nate grinned. "That baby was fun!"
"Yeah. I guess it was." She chuckled.
"Next time, though, warn us if you're going to bolt off and come back with a damn stag," Erza called, chuckling.
