Zutara: An Unexpected Surprise

~Zuko pov ~

     I looked around trying to find something when I see a path. It looked like on old one, but it looked like an off road one since it had no stone make-up. 
     "You want to see where that goes?" I ask and point at the over grown path.
     "Yeah." She agreed quickly with a big smile on her face. "If you can catch me." She laughed then bolted down the path catching me off guard.
     "Hey you cheater." I yelled after her as I ran trying to catch up with her.
     It wasn't hard to catch up with her, but catching her was a little harder. I finally got my arms around her then I tried to slow down, but we fell to the ground. We rolled and tumbled around on the ground. When we stopped I was on top of her and she was trapped between my arms and the ground.
     "That was fun huh?" She asked her blue eyes glisten and some of her brown hair was in her face.
     "Yeah it was really fun." I agreed as I moved her hair out of her face.
     I snapped out of it and stood up sticking my hand out to help her up. She looked confused, but took my hand and I pulled her up off the ground. Then I finally got to look around it was getting dark and there was a lake I think that was what it was at least. So I took off my shirt and headed in the water.
     "Hey you coming? Don't worry it's nice and I'm sure the water won't bite." I yelled at her.

~Katara pov ~

     I took off and headed into the water. It felt so nice the water was still a little warm from the sun warming it up all day. So I float on my back relaxing a bit as he does what ever he does. It didn't take long for my peace to be ruined cause not even a minute later Zuko decided to splash me with water. 

    "Hey, what was that for?" I jump up and put my hands on my hips and look at him with the most upset face I could fake. 

     "What do you mean I didn't do anything?" He said with a sweet little innocent face trying to play innocent. 

     "Oh ok then I must have been mistaken then sorry." I sweetly say and turn around slowly only to slide half my hand into the water and whip back around splashing him. 

     "Hey." He yelled rubbing his face and then he looked at me then he smirked an devious smirk, "It's so on now."  

     "What no no no!" I yelled trying to run away from him in the water while laughing and turning around to look to see where he is. 

     "Hey get back over here." He laughed out as he tried to splash me, but wasn't close enough yet. 

     "You can't get me." I stopped and turned around and stuck out my tongue and laughed at him with my hands on my hips. 

     Then he disappeared under the water causing me to look around to see where he popped up at, but didn't see him. then I felt something touch my legs I knew what it was, but was to late before I could do anything I was underwater. We both looked at each other under the water just looking at each other with him still holding on, but eventually we had to go back up and breathe. We went up with him still holding me, but once up he picked my up slightly. 

*Zuko pov* 

     I didn't know what I did till my eyes flickered away from hers, but she didn't make a move for me to let go of her. So I kept holding her where she was as we just looked at each other. She put her hands at the base of my jaw to my neck not breaking eye contact. 

     "Katara..." I hesitate not sure of what to say or what to do as her blue eyes stare back into my ember ones.  

** Sorry for the long wait for this update I had some writers block for awhile then I also had school and sports going on, but I will try and update more frequently now that school is over and I will have more time. As long as my writers block doesn't come back there should be more coming soon. thank you guys for being so patient with me love you guys for the support and love and as always comments and ideas are always your welcomed can't wait to update for you guys again.
