Sully and Sam gently haul Nate up, letting him lean on the both whilst (Y/N) engulfs her daughter in a hug.
"Mom I'm fine. Mom, please, I'm alright." Cassie says, her voice muffled.
"I don't know what I would have done if he had hurt you." (Y/N) breathes out.
"They didn't. But they hurt dad and it's all my fault." Her voice cracks and her mother shakes her head.
"No, don't you dare say that. Your dad's going to be fine, he's handled worse." (Y/N) promises, placing a strand of Cassie's hair behind her ear.
Cassie nods, wiping her eyes. "We can go home now." She mumbles and (Y/N) chuckles.
"Yes, you can."
Her daughter frowns at her words, looking back at the rest of their family who reflected equally confused expressions.
"You four need to get out of here while you still can so I can finish this." (Y/N) orders, leading them out of the room.
"I didn't know you told jokes, Princess." Sam mutters.
"Sam, this is stupid. None of you should've gotten involved."
"This is all my fault." Cassie chokes out and (Y/N) looks back at her daughter.
"Don't you dare say that. It's only natural to be curious about the world, there's nothing wrong with that." She shrugs.
The group stop at the diving equipment pushed against the side, abandoned with only a few pieces left.
(Y/N) begins getting ready, pulling on her wetsuit. Everybody's silent. Knowing that they can't change her mind and so just watch as gets ready.
She picks up the last remaining gun from the case, steadying her breathing. With the mask situated on her head, she takes a deep breath, turning to her family and smiling.
"See you in a minute." (Y/N) says, her voice soft.
All four of them return her smile as she turns, placing the mask over her face and climbing over the railing.
With one last look at them, she nods and jumps, plunging into the ice of the ocean.
—
The murky depths doesn't stop (Y/N) from continuing to swim down, further and further until somehow the water becomes clearer.
The mist and bubbles generated begins to fade, everywhere around becoming warmer and brighter. Just below her, a spire reaching out as if wanting to leave.
Just below her, the crumbling but still elegance of the city.
Just below her, the still shimmering buildings connected and surrounding the main event. Walls of magnificence and royalty.
The Parthenon. The temple of Poseidon himself, warrior statues guarding the outside.
(Y/N) swims down, until she can't no more and the water becomes nothing, allowing her to fall right the at the steps.
Pulling off her mask, she breathes in amazement at the sight in front of her. For she had only just fallen at the foot of Poseidon's golden statue.
—
Cassie leans over the rails and Sam claps his hands together.
"Right, c'mon Cass."
"No, I'm not going anywhere without mom. Y'know if -" she stops once she turns around to face them.
Nate, Sully and Sam were all donned in the diving equipment just like the one her mother had been wearing.
"What are you -"
"We are going to help your mother because she can't do this alone, kid." Sully says.
"And it's a Drake thing." Sam adds, shrugging and lighting up a cigarette.
"So, c'mon, you can't go diving like that." Nate says, throwing her over her wetsuit.
Cassie grins, ready to end this.
—
The four of them climb over the railing, pulling down their masks.
"On the count of three." Sam orders. "One, two -"
Before he can finish, the other three had already jumped and he rolls his eyes. "Three, then I guess." He mumbles, following their lead.
Together, they make their way down towards Atlantis and the final fight.
