moving away was far more difficult than molly anticipated. though, this time, she wasn't the one moving just yet.john, paul, george, stuart and the newest addition to the band, pete best, were off to hamburg on a rainy tuesday.
she'd decided to see them off as they left, a desperate george and paul trying to convince her to ditch college and go on the road with them, just for a month. she laughed and said no each time, but really thought about going for a split second on the last time they asked her.
"guys, you know i would if it weren't for college, and... hamburg being hamburg!" she shrugged. "sorry!"
"we might not see you for a really long time, molls," paul tried to persuade her. "just come with us until the end of this month!"
molly put her hands on her hips and peered at him through the small window. she was on the outside of the cramped van, looking in and cringing at the sweaty smiles.
"i don't even have my bags! how could i go to hamburg with no bags?" she shook her head at him.
paul 'ha'd', saying, "we'll buy you-" he began, but stopped once he saw allan's face. "i'll buy you new clothes with the money we make!"
molly crinkled her eyebrows in awe of his kindness. she truly wanted to go, and it kind of boosted her emotions when she remembered that all her bags were already packed for college. if she went with them and got back right before college, everything would already be waiting for her. it could work.
she had to be quick with her decision making, allan was getting impatient. pretty much everyone was waiting for paul and molly to stop talking so they could leave. she was practically hanging off the bus window, looking in at his and john's pouty faces.
the five members of the band, allan and his wife beryl, her brother barry, and "lord woodbine" were in the van, along with george sterner, making a whole of ten people in the van. there was a room right in between paul and john, paul showed her and kept tapping the seat as if that would make her get in.
"paul, i-"
"we're leaving in two minutes!" someone bellowed.
molly's mind raced, she had a choice; she could either stay at home and receive letters from the boys, bragging about how fun it was there, or she could go with them with only the little black dress and mary-janes she was wearing.
with about ten seconds of nervously glancing at the staring faces in the van, she reluctantly started for the van door. a round of whoops and cheering came from paul, george and pete, who she hadn't even met yet. he probably just wanted her to come so they could leave sooner, she thought.
molly sat in between paul and john with a scowl on her face. "trust me, you'll have lots of fun!" paul nudged her.
john stared out the window, thinking of the weeks prior when he read her letters. he almost blushed just thinking about it.

the ride to hamburg was almost too much for molly. a round of singing different songs occurred at one point early on in the trip, she was awoken by koschmider, the owner of some clubs, yelling at john for pissing in a bottle halfway through the trip.
he finished and zipped back up, placing the sloshing bottle full of pee on a sleeping george's head. he sniggered at it for a moment, getting a disgusted face from molly that prompted him to throw it out the window.
throughout the van ride, there were multiple complaints from pete, stuart and sterner, who sat all the way at the back. they kept saying it was hot and muggy, so koschmider opened a window, making everyone else so damn cold.
