molly's friends from school never really knew what to talk about with her other than boys since molly usually only hung out with boys.

sometimes girls would even pretend to be her friend just to get close to one of the guys. it often got annoying, thinking she had a true friend and then find out they're only in it for john, paul or george.

"so what's paul been up to lately?" molly's friend, sandra asked as they hung out in sandra's pinked-out room. "i thought i saw him at the grocery store yesterday,"

"no, i was with him then." molly simply said.

sandra looked up from her nail polish and grinned. "i thought he broke up with you!"

"he did," she admitted. "but we still hang out as old friends do. he gave me a ride home." she blankly said, putting a brand new coat of purple nail polish on her nails.

"oh... isn't he going out with that horrid new bird... dot?" sandra babbled. molly flinched at the horrid name.

to molly, dot was always okay, but george told her that dot said nasty things about her to paul to make her break up with him. molly wasn't sure what to believe at that point, but as long as paul still loved her, she was alright.

"fiancé, now," she said, unamused. "let's talk about something else, shall we?"

"i think i fancy paul..." she responded. "he's got nice eyes, and i've almost talked to him! twice!"

molly scoffed at the density of this git. "didn't we just talk about his fiancé?"

"he'll get over her. she kind of looks like a lizard," sandra said nonchalantly.

her room was filled with posters and photos of elvis presley and buddy holly and the crickets. she was a real big fan of them, you could say. once, she even admitted to writing a love-letter to elvis. of course, her parents never approved of her love for him. he was an outlaw in those days.

molly's room was just blank, as she would say. it was grey and boring. but when she moved away in less than two years, she'd decorate her apartment to be nice and pretty. that is if she didn't become a doctor or a journalist. deep down, she didn't really know which she wanted to be.

"paul gets over girls a little too quickly, sandra," molly warned. "i learnt that from experience."

"he won't get over me!" sandra argued. she finished painting her nails and sighed, placing the polish carefully back into the small tray which held her polishes.

"you say that as if it's a fact," she pointed out.

"why, i'm the prettiest girl in our school! i don't know why he had to choose her of all the girls..." sandra continued, putting her hair in tacky rollers.

"i hear he likes blondes..." molly said teasingly because sandra was a natural red-head. an angry one, at that.

she rolled her eyes, still putting the rollers in. "then i'll dye my hair. i'll do whatever it takes!"

molly hoped she was joking, but it didn't look nor sound like she was. the only reason she decided to have a sleepover at sandra's was because their parents were friends, and sandra wanted the "inside scoop" on paul's daily life.

so, she told her. it was a boring twenty minutes of explaining, but sandra finally saw how dull his life was. or at least, to her it was. to molly, his life was the most exciting thing ever!

he was in a band, he had lots of friends and a nice girlfriend! what more could a guy ask for?

"i'm thinking about getting a job at the corner-store," molly contemplated as she put her nail polish back along with sandra's.
