Something can't be easier said than done at times, it's like saying that you could have a great idea, but changing your mind immediately afterwards, despising your thought. Having nothing else to do, some would quit, or others would keep trying. In this scenario, in a world much different from the past, people would keep trying. They would do anything to save their beloved, or the new addition to earth, companions. Some think it's wrong to have innocent like creatures be put into a harsh, pressuring job. Making their human happy, can never be fulfilled at times, considering that so many companions have already left.
Left, means gone, taken away, or some believe it means dead. But nobody really knows about what happens when their loving companion disappears. Now, since long ago, people have considered that when the companions don't do their job, they are immediately gone, vanished. It's hard to know where they go.
The most delight a human can get, is when the bright sunlight pours into their bedroom, welcoming them a good morning. They would sit up, but also be greeted by a pleasant creature sleeping in their lap. It's a dream really, hoping for everyone to wake up that way. But when a companion leaves for punishment, the human is left clueless and alone.
Maybe one day the mystery will be closed, but that happening anytime soon, would be impossible.
