Trace Alexei Kedyanin
I looked at my Lyev planner, eyes scanning for today's date. "Ah," I put a hand up to my chin, nodding. Besides that meeting that the executive had with the CEO and COO of Zadari Industries to discuss equal ratios within our pack. With Nikolai back and in my arms, that problem should be solved.
My fingers raked across my handwriting, smirking to myself. Make Lyev lunch @11:30, watch Attack on Titan with Lyev @12 and make sweet, passionate love to Lyev @2:15. I licked my lips deviously, eyes narrowing as I remembered how lewd my mate had been in the throes of pleasure. I wished that I could take my time with him today, but I had so many pressing warrior duties to take care. After that meeting, I with a clan of hunters and scouts had to run along the border of our pack to make sure that there weren't any intruders lurking. It was my job to make sure that this pack was safe. After that run, I had to come up with a concise plan to keep rogues from entering our land and how to teach everyone to defend against others with the new weapons that had come in. I also had to teach them how to use their wolf instincts to fully fight.
Sigh.
Like my job or not, it was mine. It was handed down to me like the Alpha or the Beta. I had to work my ass off and prove to Sevastian that I was worthy of being the Lead Warrior, the Zeta, of the Blazing Rage. I was made to protect, made to defend, and damn it if I didn't do a good job at it. It also meant that I had a lot more than just this pack of people to protect.
I had a mate.
I had Nikolai.
And there was not going to be a day in hell where I let something happen to him.
I checked my apple watch, wondering what the time was. 10:42. I still had time to kill before I had to make Lyev's lunch, consisting of a few things: a ham and provolone melt with butter, a bowl of tomato soup, and sliced apple pieces with caramel. Oh, and strawberry flavored water since he was so in love with those things.
I pulled out my phone and went to the last person that I texted, heart fluttering and butterflies awakening in my stomach as I typed.
TK: 143.
Lyev: You just saw me this morning.
TK: Can you blame me for missing you?
Lyev: No. It's understandable why.
TK: No need to be cocky, shithead. Where are you? I want to come love on you.
Lyev: You sound creepy, Tracey Trace.
My body shuddered as I imagined his sickly sweet voice saying that to me, a teasing smile on his face. God, he knew I hated that nickname. I hated it ever since I was eight years and I hate it to this day. It made me uncomfortable but for some reason, I was gonna let him keep calling me that because it made him happy.
A happy Lyev is a happy Trace.
TK: Where are you?
Lyev: Sniff me out, you damn dog.
I chuckled a bit, pocketing my phone. If he was in front of me right now, I'd pinch his cheeks. He always looked so adorable and it made the sadist in me want to mess him up even further. 'Ahem,' My wolf, Hades, shot me a disapproving look, but I knew somewhere within him, he felt the same way. The bitch. I rolled my eyes as I closed my eyes, letting my heightened senses take over. I opened my eyes once again, my vision black as I searched around for that red string. I had this power as the Chosen Wolf to find people based on the color of the string they had attached to them. It was like a symbol of their lifeline and Lyev's just happened to be red.
