The next day began, and it was the first day of the Google challenges. Veronica was excited to get started. She arrived at the Google building, immediately going to the room she was told to go with her team. She came into a small computer room with glass walls surrounding them.

Once she walked in, the only person there was Stuart. He looked up from his phone once he noticed someone had walked in, before going back to scrolling and typing.

Veronica walked into the room and sat down on one of the couches which happened to be beside the one Stuart was sitting on. Veronica took out her phone before placing her bag on the floor.

The two were silent as they scrolled through their phone. Every so often, the two would glance at each other when the other wasn't looking.

Veronica looked up from her phone when she noticed someone had walked in. It was Neha and Yo-Yo. The three sent each other a small smile and waited for Lyle, Billy and Nick. Finally, the last three showed up.

Once everyone on the team had shown up, the computer screens in the room turned on and Mr.  Chetty appeared on one particular, with a whole bunch of words and numbers behind him. Codes to be exact.

"Good morning interns. Today marks the first of several challenges through which your team shows its merits. While dog-fooding a new product, Googlers reported a bug that disabled their audio. Two million lines of code are in the force files. Your job is to find the bug." Mr. Chetty then disappeared and the team shot into action.

"Let's check the user reports," Neha said while grabbing a bunch of items and getting to work.

"Check for red flags," Yo-Yo began. "See what exceptions were thrown," Stuart finished.

"I start by drawing up strategies to sift through the code," said Lyle as they all walked over to the glass wall and began writing down equations.

"Code, right? Code, right?" Billy mumbled to himself. "So we're looking to kind of break the password. Is the answer in the question?" he paused and looked over at Nick. "Bug."

"Eureka!" Nick cried.

"Bug like fly. The fly." Billy spoke out-loud. "Is Chetty a cinephile?"

"Goldblum!" Billy and Nick cried out in unison.

"Mind-boggling no one's notebook is out," said Nick as he noticed that not one member of the team had their notebook out. The team kept on writing on the glass wall. "This gibberish you're writing may or may not be helpful. I guarantee what we're saying is helpful!"

Veronica had enough of Nick and Billy's rambling and turned around to face them. "Nick! Billy!" she yelled, making the two look at her. "I'm sorry but I don't think what you two are talking about is actually helping us right now! I wrote this gibberish everyday at Yale." Veronica snapped before turning around and got back to work with her teammates.

"Nick," Lyle began. "Your daughter is right. We're looking for a bug, not a password. They are different things," he explained.

"Keep going with that human connection. Go on, stay positive," Nick said to Billy. "Go, go, go. We'll go on fly. Cause we're fly-ing. Fly. Fly. I like that."

Veronica glanced over at Billy and Nick and rolled her eyes as they started to ramble on about pointless things that could find the bug. She knew that her father and Billy didn't know what they were doing.

Veronica glanced over at her teammates and could see that they were getting frustrated like her. She then glanced over at Stuart. His frustration was clearly showing as he bit down on his lip while writing down an equation.
