Somewhere in Hawaii:

"Where am I?" I grumbled. My thoughts were foggy and I could not recall the past few day's events.

"You sir, are on my island!" An unkind voice came from above.

"Who's that!" I stood up abruptly and sand fell off my crinkled white shirt.

"I'm Hoogie. Also, get the fuck off my island." A kid dropped out of a tree. His appearance was almost as haggard as mine. He smiled gruffly with a mischievous twinkle in his hazel eyes. The shredded hoodie he wore exposed his arms and his shorts and were losing several threads.

"What happened to you?" I ignored his sharp piercing eyes and rude introduction. He looked down at himself.

"You mean my shirt and shorts?" He asked with laughing eyes.

"Yeah." I nodded and dusted the sand off my shirt.

"I did it myself. It gets hot out here." He shrugged and pushed his hands in his pocket. Looking at my feet, he stalked closer to me.

"Hey!" I exclaimed. Hoogie stopped abruptly. "You're a complete stranger!" I took a step back away from him, but my foot plummeted into water. That's when the smell of salt in the air hit me. "We are on a beach?" I turned my back against Hoogie and took in the mesmerizing view of the calm blue sky and the clean, clear blue ocean water.

"Yeah." Hoogie sighed.

I jumped. "Have you ever heard of personal space?" Hoogie was almost touching his shoulder to my shoulder.

"Yeah." He smirked as he met my eyes. "What's your name?" A devious grin was plastered on his sunburned face.

I was taken a back. "My name?" I paused wondering.

"Yeah." Hoogie said again.

That's when I realized, I didn't remember my name.
