Hoogie's pov:

The breeze curls around me making the slight sheet of sweat on my body turn from discomfort to comfort. It's only been one day without Guy or Chase or whatever he's going by now and I'm going crazy.

I worry about him so much. Thought after thought races through my mind. This is the guy who basically brought me back to sanity. All these lonely hours on an island get to you. Survival is the only thing to think about.

Hackett could have locked him up or worse... killed him.

I can't leave him there because... it's the right thing... who am I kidding? It's not because of that it's because I like him. There I said it. I like Guy.

...

I look around the island trying to find a boat or something that could work as one. After hours of a fruitless search, nothing seems acceptable. I decide to try my luck with a tree limb. Dragging the limb to the beach, I leave it to gather my supplies. After I climb up the tree, I pull out a old, worn bag. I place everything I could carry on my back into it and slide down the tree. I hurry to the beach and grab the tree limb. I march into the ocean and start to swim under the unforgiving sun. This was going to take awhile.

Before I could get far though, a ship comes into my view. My eyes lit up in glee. I could finally go home. A frown covers my face. What about Guy?

I would save him. I'm sure if it. The others though... I think I should leave them behind. They have become horrible savages that do not deserve to be saved. Guy would not agree and would want to save them though. What should I do?

My jaw sets. I guess I'll save all of them for Guy.

I scream for the boats attention and from the response of a horn, I'm sure I got it.

It skims over the water to me like a water bug. I do not see any signs of a crew on board. A lifebuoy flies through the wind and lands by me. I lift it over my head and under my arms and relax as a person pulls me out of the ocean. A lonely man helps me up. Four yellow stripes rest on his sleeves. He must be the captain.

"I am Captain Beckett. Welcome aboard my ship." His grin reaches his eyes and I felt a strange sense of home.

"I'm Hoogie and I need your help."
