Two days passed without any news on the whereabouts of Cell or Androids 17 and 18. Trunks were still gone with Vegeta, and Goku was still resting. Piccolo and Tein had already returned the day before, having not found Cell either. Vara kept herself outside training until Chi Chi would drag her inside to eat and rest for a bit before she was back training as well. She trained with the others once in a while, but mostly with Piccolo and Gohan - when he wasn't forced to study.
It got to the point that on the third day, Chi Chi threaten to tie Vara up id she didn't rest just a little bit longer, she the teen did. The older lady smiled in victory before she grabbed one of Gohan's study books and gave it to Vara, telling her it's never too busy to study as well.
Vara wasn't used to studying much. In her timeline, Gohan had taught her a lot of things, and being book smart was one of them since he wanted to be a scholar once upon a time. Turns out, she really liked learning new things as much as Gohan did, but with the way things were in her era, there was no time to focus on such things and she was forced to focus on fighting and getting stronger.
Because of this, when Trunks had joined in being trained by her dad, the two created a small competition, not wanted the other to one-up each other and helped in motivating them even more. It was a friendly type of competition since Vara turned out to be a competitive person sometimes.
Vara let out a sigh, resting her forehead on the cool top of the kitchen table. Her mind was a mess, and that familiar uneasy and uncomfortable feeling she always gets when trunks leaves were there but three times worse... It was taking a toll on her. She had barely slept in the previous nights, her apatite wasn't the best, almost as if she was sick and she couldn't focus right.
Speaking of not focusing, she wasn't paying attention to what the TV was saying until Gohan alerted her to what was happening. They finally got a lead on to where Cell is. Vara jumped up quickly and was quick to follow them. The plan was to take the plane since it would make it harder for Cell to pick up in their Ki.
It wasn't long into the flight that Goku suddenly showed up.
"Goku?"
"Dad!"
"Yo!" He casually greeted everyone on the plane.
"So, you're all better now?" Krillin asked, him and Gohan moving closer to Goku who nodded his head.
"Yep! Though I feel a little hungry right now." Goku said with a small laugh before he went straight to the problem. "I hate to say it, but there ain't no way I can beat those Androids or this Cell guy the way I am now."
He explained that he was there to take Gohan and Vara with him to a place where they can get a year worth of training done in one day. It sounded completely impossible, but Piccolo seemed to know what he was talking about.
"I'm going to take Vegeta and Trunks, too. I'm sure they'll be able to handle it just fine."
Vara perked up at the thought of seeing Trunks again. Goku asked both Vara and Gohan to grab his hand, both did without hesitance. Before Vara can even blink, she's now standing on some rocks. She blinks her eyes a few times when -
"Vara?"
Her eyes widen and before anyone knew it, she was letting go of Goku's hand and she practically tackled Trunks who was already going to attempt to stand up and go to her. The teens didn't pay attention to what was happening between Goku and Vegeta, the only thing that mattered was that they were no longer apart from one another.
"I missed you," Vara breathed out, both refusing to let go of one another.
It was not only difficult for her but for Trunks as well, who unlike Vara, didn't have any training to really distract him from the horrible uneasiness that continued to build in the pit of his stomach, or the fact that he barely got any sleep. Then there was the fact that he had been itching to just touch her, to hold her close, but he couldn't because she wasn't there.
