I'm dying, Tsukki ur too precious for this world
Heller, chapter 3 is out! Ya!
Sho and I continued to talk for a while, and Seikatsu watched calmly from her spot in the tree. It had maybe been thirty minutes and we were on the topic of our favorite color. Basic and easy. Something you should also know about your friends. Not that we were friends, but maybe if we continued to meet up we would be.
"So, what's your favorite color Sho?" I asked. I sat, legs crossed, on the beautifully green grass.
"I've never thought about it much..." he took a minute to think. He was still standing, I don't know why though. Maybe his clothes were too expensive or he was too civilized to sit on the ground. Just the thought of that being the real reason made me want to roll my eyes. "I've always liked green, I guess."
He averted his gaze most likely because my hair and eyes were green, but I shrugged it off and replied with, "Cool." At first he seemed tense with my informal and rude, teasing way of talking, but he was more relaxed now. Before he seemed so out of place but he's visibly more comfortable now. Of course that doesn't mean he's going to start throwing around improper language.
"What's yours?" He replied after a moment of silence. I thought about it, watching as he put the tip of his shoes into the grass and moved his food around in a circular motion. He seems to fidget a lot, with his hands or feet, clothes sometimes. I don't think he talks to a lot of people.
"I don't have one." I smiled brightly. "I like all the colors." I stretched out my arms and gestured to the forest all around us. "There all so pretty." I concluded as I moved my arms to my sides, leaning back on them.
"That's true. Most of the colors are all very pretty, but I'm going to stick with my answer." He said, looking back at a tree to the side of us.
"Well then, we need another question." I flashed a smile again, before saying "How about: how old are you?"
"15. What about you?"
"I'm 12." I smiled, "so you're three years older, huh?" He nodded in response. "While where on the topic of ages, when's your birthday?"
"January 11th. And yours?"
I made a quick mental note of all the things I new so far. He wanted me to call him Sho, and wouldn't give his real name, his favorite color was green, he was fifteen, and his birthday was January 11th.
After a few seconds I quickly pointed out, "So a winter birthday. Mine's July 15th."
"So a summer birthday." He repeats, smiling lightly.
"Yeah." I smile back. "So...." I take my time though I already know my next question, "where do you live?" I still hadn't found out about his status, or just who he was, but that didn't mean I was giving up.
He hesitated before shyly replying, "Just in the Kingdom."
"Well that's pretty obvious." I said in a snarky tone. "I mean what part." He hesitated again. "You know you're hesitation is making me suspicious."
He still didn't seem to sure about what to say but eventually replied. "The capital."
"Wow, you really do come from a high ranked noble family." He nodded, seemingly ashamed. "What's with that face? You don't like living in the capital?"
He lowered his gaze to the grass in front of him. "It's not that, it's just nice to not have someone recognize me. And the more you find out about my life the more I fear you're going to start treating me like everyone else does, instead of like a normal person."
I want to know what he means. How does everyone else treat him? But at the same time I understand this is a sensitive subject. And I understand that right now, being treated like I'm not a thief and just a normal person makes me feel really happy. It makes me feel as he said, normal. And I know I am not normal, and neither is he. He's a high ranked noble, who lives in the capital, and is so respected that people treat him differently. I'm a thief who's been wanted for four years, dead or alive.
"Okay, I understand. No more questions about your life." I say. I raise my hand up half way, so my elbow is still bent, and say, "I swear, I will not ask about your rank, where you live, who you actually are, who your family is, or any other subject you feel uncomfortable with."
I watched as his eyes, which are now one mine, widened in shock. "Really? Your not going to keep pushing the subject?"
"Nope. Not as long as you promise to do the same thing."
"I promise." He agrees.
"No! You have to say exactly what I said with your arm raised!" He gave me a look of confusion. "That's the only way I will keep my promise. Things have to be equal here."
"Okay?" He moved his arm up. "I swear, I will not ask about your rank, where you live, who you actually are, who your family is, or any other subject you feel uncomfortable with."
"Great!" I jumped up on my two feet. "From here on out we are equals!"
He smiled warmly, "Sounds good." He extended his hand out, and I gladly took it in mine, shaking it lightly. He continued to smile as he said softly, "Equals... I like the sound of that."
