Hope you guys enjoy:

(Time skip to winter)

Sigh.

I retried further into my scarf, which is almost covering my nose now. I then stuff my hands deep into my pocket. I let out another frosty breath and watch as the cloud disappears.

December is freezing. Even with my high tolerance to the cold, thanks to my quirk, it still gets me. I look around at the frosted trees and grass. No animals are heard, which is of course expected during this time of the year. I continue to shuffle slowly over to our usual meeting spot.

I'm forced to bring out one of my hands from my pockets to move a branch that lingers maybe a foot away from my face. I instantly stuff it back inside. I walk for a few more minutes and watch as my breath hypnotically comes out in visible puffs. I hear a slight crunching underneath me as my feet come into contact with the slightly frozen ground. It snowed a little bit, so white covers everything outside in a thin layer.

I take one more step and come out by the nearly frozen lake. I smile happily at the frozen landscape in front of me. Turn my attention to the open area, I scan the surroundings for Deku. Not spotting her yet, I sigh, closing my eyes, and head over to the grass that resides closer to the forest. While waiting for Deku I sit down, not caring if my clothes get wet from melted snow.

I close my eyes for a splendid second listening to the wind as it blows harshly through the trees. Then I'm met with a sudden force that is expected, but still causes adrenaline to rush through me in a sudden burst.

"Deku! Oh my god, you startled me." I say, a little out of breath. She giggles innocently and my slightly spooked expression is washed away and replaced with a warm smile.

"Hehe." She says, pushing herself off of her knees. She moves and stands in front of me waiting expectantly. I shake my head with a light sigh, but move my legs apart. She smiles and sits right between them leaning her head back into my chest. I wrap my arms around her waist and she snuggles further into me. "My very own furnace." She sates happily.

I snort. "Is that all I am to you?" I say dramatically, which makes her laugh.

"No. Your my beeest friend." She plays along. This time when she laughs I laugh along with her. After that we fall into a comfortable silence.

With nothing to talk about I start thinking. I wish I could ask, "I'm only your best friend?" With a hurt filled tone and she would laugh again and call me her boyfriend. Just the thought makes a smile tug at my lips, but I force it down. I wish we were in the that kind of relationship, but I don't think I should start something that I will eventually have to break off, of course that is just assuming she would say yes.

All of that would be for not if my father found out. Plus he plans to marry me off to some noble girl or princess when I come of age, that's how it works. Find someone who will be able to produce powerful offsprings with. And that forces me to find someone powerful to marry, and not very many people have powers. It's something that runs in the family. And a majority of people don't have the 'honor' of being born with that kind of heritage.

My train of thought is interrupted by the only other person around. Deku shifts around, moving her arms. I don't know what she's doing until she stand's up, snowball in hand. I look up at her eyes wide waiting for impact. She's smiling evilly and then swings her arm throwing the snow right into my face. Instead of feeling mad by friend's uncalled for behavior I shake the remaining snow from my face and hair and grab some snow. I push off the ground while compacting the snow together.

I let out a small competitive growl. "You better be read for this Deku." I say teasingly. She laughs and starts running away. She's a fast runner, faster than me, but I wont stop until I get my revenge. I run after her, snow ball in hand. She's zigging and zagging all over the place.

Soon I have to stop because I know I won't get her this way. I have to wait for an opening, or I could wait for her to come to me, but that would take too long. So I stand and watch as she stops, too, facing me from a few yards away. With her knees slightly bent, she looks ready to spring into action with one faulty movement. In one swift moment I start sprinting towards her. Just like I thought she flies away into the forest for protection. I slow my pace to a walk knowing she's hiding somewhere in there. Soon I step into the forest. The trees are spread apart but thicken the farther you go in. I stay close enough to the meadow that I can find my way back if needed. I hear a slight shaking as a leaf falls in front of my face.

"Shit..." Deku breaths out under her breath.

"Deku, language." I tease, looking up to see her familiar smiling face. She rolls her eyes and sticks out her tongue at me. Then jumps from the branch and onto the ground, leaving deep footprints in the frost. Without a moment of hesitation she runs the other way, traveling deeper into the woods.

I sigh. I feel so defeated. I wish I could just go back to the lake, but I can't just leave Deku thinking I'm still playing. Sometimes I feel like I'm a babysitter.

With one last sigh I trudge deeper into the forest, following Deku's light footprints, like I should've done before.

Felt kinda weird writing this when it's like 90 degrees outside

Well, bye then!
