The chit given by Pranay, was lying on the floor of room and the air, generated by fan was floating it around the room.
He had once again confessed his love for Shravya, just like seven years ago and it was a matter of happiness but, Shravya....what happened to her? She was crying. She kept crying, hugging her children, for unknown digits of time.
What was flowing from eyes, wasn't sorrow, it was anger. She was mad at herself. Many times, amidst happiness of getting something, the sorrow of losing other things starts elevating, like any pristine disease.
Feeling her children near her heart, she realised how distanced she had been staying from them, for last ten days. Her Evenings had been spending with Pranay and her kids used to stay with Childminder. She was like....like Greedy. Greedy for staying near Pranay.
After so many years, it was first time that, her children weren't her priority, that too, for ten days. Her own behaviour was as pricking her deep down in chest, like a thorn.
Kids were too young to understand their mothers perturbed state of mind, but they could comprehend her tears. Frightened kids clinged to Shravya and continued sniveling.
Next morning she woke up late. Kids were still sleeping, clinging to her from both sides. They also seemed tired after weeping for too long. Not wanting to wake them up, Shravya layed on bed without any movement.
When she got her phone from the head of the bed, she found three missed calls. All from Pranay!
She checked the inbox, no messages were found. Sighing deeply, she again closed her eyes. She could see her husband's face Infront of her. No..no, Shravya hadn't promised him that she won't remarry, or she would become an anchoress or she'd not open the door of her heart if love knocks. No conditions, no promises were made.
He had left her suddenly, without saying or listening anything. Like darkness spreads in a sunny afternoon when clouds covers the space between sun and earth, like when you find no source of light, neither generated by sun, nor produced by moon or stars, to show you right path. You just keep wandering, where to go? What to do? How to bring light back in our life and our loved ones' life!?
But, after her husband's death, she had promised herself that she won't let her children feel any void. They shouldn't miss father's love, care and protectiveness. Rather she'd keep alive memories of their father, in their heart. She'd be a strong support for her kids. She'd give them shoulder to lean on whenever needed.
And she hadn't left any stone unturned in last four years. She had played roles of both mother and father, expertly.
But now, this proposal of Pranay....what should she do!?
The thought of spending her life with Pranay, was presumably the most beautiful thought ever. Like a dream turning into reality or a flower blooming without it's season. Or like some bird of birdcage which has gotten whole sky to fly freely. She knew that saying yes to Pranay was like opening locks of happiness for herself.
But she wasn't selfish. How could she think about only herself? She was in huge maze. If she marries Pranay, would he be able to adopt her children as his own? Would the children not have to bear the bitterness of not being his own blood? Never ever? Would she be able to lit the lamp Infront of her husband's picture, even after Pranay's entry? Would she be able to tell her kids something about their father, everyday, how she does now? Father was like this, father used to do that, how she creats stories by her own to propitiate her kids. Would everything stay same as before even after Pranay's entry?
Her head felt heavy. She took her phone, for sometime she kept fidgeting it with her fingers, dialling Pranay's number then cancelling immediately. She also typed messages then deleted them. Her heart continued questioning answering herself, as if she was standing in a witness box.
At the end, she has decided. But as she couldn't deny him directly, she blocked his number.
One part of heart felt light, but other part, which completely belonged to her, felt heavy and started drowning, deep down in the sea of sorrow.
