BRITTANY'S POV
I woke up on the couch wrapped in Luke's arms. I really think I was falling for him. Nothing had really happened between us yet and I'm kind of scared to start something, I don't want a repeat of last time.
"Morning." Luke said in a husky voice holding me tighter.
"Good morning." I said. ''Luke can we go to the beach today, just you and me?"
Luke smiled widely "yea umm just let me get ready."
Once Luke disappeared round the corner Claudia came barging in.
"Oh thank god brit you're up." She said in a panicked manner.
"What's up?" I asked concerned.
"I think I'm in love."
I gave her a massive hug. I always wondered why she never committed to any of her boyfriends back home and it's because the one she is supposed to be with is right here in Melbourne.
"Brit I don't know what to do, what if he's just on the rebound or he doesn't feel the same? Shit I have to turn off my feelings don't I? I mean we aren't even officially dating." Claudia rambled on.
"Claud you'd have to be blind to think Jai doesn't love you. I mean the way he looks at you is just the cutest thing, it's like he falls in love all over again." I reassured her.
Claud smiled at me. "So, what are you doing today?"
"Luke and I are going to the beach." I said as he came in the room. "I'm gonna go get ready." I said leaving the room leaving the two in the lounge.
CLAUDIA'S POV
"Hey Claud I need to ask you something." Luke said
"Shoot." I said not under standing the seriousness of the question.
"Does Brittany not like me, I feel like every time I try and be close to her she hesitates. I thought she liked me but I don't know." He didn't look me in the eye.
"Luke," I said thinking about what my best friend had been through "I know for a fact Brittany really likes you, I know it seems like she distances herself from you but she's just scared"
"Of what?"
"That's something she has to tell you herself." I said as Brittany entered the room.
BRITTANY'S POV
As I entered the room the atmosphere had changed, Luke and Claudia didn't even look up at me and their facial expressions weren't exactly happy.
"Uhh Luke are you ready to go?" He finally shakes out of his daze and looks at me.
"Yea umm seeya later Claudia." Luke grabbed my hand.
"Bye babe." I lightly squeezed her shoulder with my free hand, she gave me an insincere smile. Now I was confused.
Thing lightened up by the time we got to the beach. "Are you ok? You and Claudia seemed weird back home." I asked him.
"Yea everything's fine just umm tired I guess." I didn't believe him but I wanted to have a good time so I let it go.
I set up a towel to sunbathe while Luke went straight for the water.
"Come in babe." Luke shouted.
"Is it cold?" I shouted back.
"Nah it's actually really warm." I got up and walked over to the water.
As soon as I stepped in I realised how freezing it was. I gave Luke a death glare and turned around but before I could go anywhere two very wet arms wrapped around my waist picking me up and throwing me in the water.
