Chapter eight

You weren't sure if you heard his words right... was he really asking you to be his girlfriend after everything? About two weeks ago you told him you wanted to take things slow because you weren't sure if you had actually feelings for him. Also you were still in love with another guy who was in your life as much as he was. What if Shawn did love you, or if he had any romantic feelings for you? What if he did and you would say yes to Tom. What would happen? Could you ever get a chance to be with Shawn, but maybe you weren't meant to be together after all.

"y/n?" You turn your eyes back at Tom as soon as he says your name. Worried look painted over his face, the sweet mischievous smile gone.

"Yeah?" you ask him without thinking.

You were too into the thoughts running around your mind about Shawn and your feelings.

"So? Is that a no?" Tom's words sound like he was afraid to ask you again.

Was he scared that you would say no to him? Should you say yes or should you just say no and go on like nothing ever happened.

"Oh...", You whisper before getting off his lap and sitting next to him, keeping your eyes on him, "I-I don't know what to say, or do." you tell him honestly before looking down at your hands.

"What do you mean?" Tom's voice is weak and sweet, he takes your hand into his "What's on your mind beautiful?"

"It's just... I don't know what to do, Tom." you let out a sigh as you finish talking, "I wanted to take things slow.", you tell before looking up at him. "I-I'm not sure if I'm ready..." you can't keep your eyes on him for any longer because the look on his face was killing you.

He looked like you were stabbing him with your words.

"Yeah... sorry." Tom says before letting go of your hands and starting to get up.

"Tom... please don't leave, can we please talk about this?" You ask him and he just lets out a small groan.

"What do you want to talk about. I know you wanted to take thing slow but everything was going so well that I, stupidly enough, thought you would actually want to date someone like me." He tells you as he pulls his hair like he did when he was nervous or angry about something.

"Tom, please sit down." You tell him and to your surprise he listens to you and sits back down. You take one of his hands and start drawing on it with your finger.

"I like you Tom." You whisper to him after a while, still not sure if you should say yes to him or not. Were you ready to be with him after only knowing him for couple weeks? But then again you two spend a lot of time together and you have fun with him... you could see yourself with him. But could you see yourself marrying him one day? Did you want to date someone to just date them or did you want to date someone to go somewhere from there. You knew it was extreme but right now you wanted to make this as perfect as possible.

"I like you so much and I want to be with you.. I want everyone to know that you are mine." You give him a smile and now your head, you wanted to say yes and no at the same time.

"Is that a yes?" he asks you.

"Yes..." you say the first thing that comes to your mind.

"Yes!" Tom's smile is bigger than you have ever seen on him before. He takes your cheeks in his hands and kisses you with so much passion that you are pretty sure you could pass out if it lasted any longer. "I think I'm falling for you." Tom tells you as he pulls away from the kiss, you feel like your heart drops to your stomach. No one had ever told you there were falling for you or in love with you. Before this Shawn was the only guy who had ever told you that they loved you but that always was in a friend love type of way not in a 'I actually love you' way.
