Percy Jackson)

I did leave camp. But Nico was at least fairly happy and everyone was fine. I never said they couldn't drop by my place but I just couldn't go back.

Now I got a friend from Goode named Daniel, and I guess he worked desk at the building now. He saw me and he smiled and I smiled back.

" How are you not dead?" Daniel asked me. I was always kind of into him. Yeah, in that kind of way. #DealWithIt I still kind of am.

" I've been asking myself that ever since I turned 13 every day." I told Daniel. " But I lived I guess. "

" Awesome sauce." He said. " Your parents haven't moved yet so that's good for you. But there are a few things different."

" What?" I asked, now excited.

" Go up and find out yourself." Daniel told me.

" But...." I complained. " But I won't leave you alone until you tell me."

" god you're whiny, dude." Daniel said.

" If you were with me, you'd understand." I said. " Same 7 people for months on a ship that you couldn't leave with out dying. It was annoying."

" Was you 'girlfriend' on there?"

Okay, nobody believed I got a girlfriend because I'm openly bi preferred to guys.

" Oh, shut up." I told him. " We broke up a couple months back anyway."

" So where's the boyfriend?" He asked me.

" I don't have one." I told him. " It's not like I'm going back to where I was anyway."

" You're not going back to your dad's?" Daniel sounded disappointed.

" Why'd you figure I was with my dad?" I asked.

He just shrugged.

" Your not dead." Daniel told me. " But everyone thought you were and plus that's what your mom said. You were just with you dad longer than planned."

" Yeah." I said. " That's one way to say it, I guess."

" Then why aren't you going back ever?" Daniel asked me. " It's your dad."

" We don't get along." I used the typical.

" You're still 17." He said.

" Well we don't." I said. " He could care less if I actually did die. I don't have much to do with him anyway. I skipped last summer, three before that, and this year. It's not like you and your dad."

I head upstairs to the apartment to find Daniel's dad just reading the paper, drinking coffee. A note for Daniel saying my mom was at work.

I closed the door and that got his attention.

" Daniel?" He asked. " Your back early."

He walked to the living room, now able to see me.

" It's not Daniel." I said.

He dropped the cup and it shattered. Thankfully not on the carpet or wood. But on an old rug we needed to get rid of anyway.

Daniel's father remembered me. Saw me the day before I went missing and ended up on the other side of the country.

" But you're dead." He said. " I... I saw the body at the funeral."

" No, I think I'm still alive and in contact." I told him.

" Your dad said you were as good dead." He told me.

" Well the summer was tough." I respond to that. " I wouldn't doubt him giving into that. I'm guessing July. Mid."
