"I cannot believe you. We're over."
"Are you fucking kidding me? I hang out with other girls because you act as if you hate me! I like you but you never want to do anything but gossip and talk about your personal troubles, Jesus Christ, have you ever asked about me or my friends? No."
"Oooooooo," the crowd says around them. The music has stopped and now everyone is focusing on the couple.
Mary looks around as her classmates close in on her and Rio, and she looks like a stray deer against a pack of wolves. She starts to look panicked and Rio steps back into the mob, with the girl he was dancing with earlier reappearing by his side. They start getting closer and closer to Mary, yelling taunts and calling her names I never knew existed. I feel myself getting angrier and angrier at them, but then it gets replaced with anger for myself. Why am I not doing anything about this?
Celina tries to stop me as I stand up and start pushing through everyone, every one of them looking annoyed at me as I pass. I finally make it to Mary, who at this point is as frozen as a statue. The group falls silent, except for a girl puking from a far corner. I wrap my arm over her shoulders, causing her to finally break down crying.
"So are you fuckers proud of yourself now? Laughing and mocking a girl that was simply trying to break up with her boyfriend? You guys must feel so amazing right now, making a poor girl cry. What did she do to you? I bet half of you guys don't even know her," I shout at them.
There's a mixed reaction of murmurs. One guy shouts: "What a loser! Mary doesn't even have a boyfriend!", causing everyone to laugh again.
"You're one to talk, Liam! You've never even been in a relationship. Heck, in seventh grade you falsely came out as pansexual in the hopes that a guy would like you, too bad you're revolting to both genders." I shout back, not knowing where specifically he is.
"The fuck? How'd you know it was me saying that?"
"Liam, your voice hasn't changed since elementary school," I say, which in itself causes a lot of laughter. "you still sound like a nerdy-ass virgin, alright? So I wouldn't talk so loud in front of the girls on your 'Girls I'd like to smell' list."
"Eeeeeew!" the crowd reacts just like I knew, and hoped, it would. "How're you gonna respond, Liam? You gonna let her say that? C'mon Liam, you gonna take that?" the crowd taunts him.
Then I see the ring of people open up to let a six and a half foot tall jock saunter up towards me. It must be Liam.
"You really have trouble closing your mouth, don't ya, Alliah? Surprised with that habit you haven't become a whore at your school," Liam growls, inches away from me.
"Shiiiiiit," the crowd mumbles.
"Go fuck yourself. I guess you're still taking out your anger on me, even though I'm not the one that caused your parents to disown you," I return his glare.
"You just had to bring that up, didn't you?" Liam starts rolling up his plain gray long sleeve-shirt sleaves.
"Oh wow, you're really menacing ain'tcha? C'mon bitch I dare you to slap me. I don't think you have the-" I'm cut off by Liam's hand getting dangerously close to my face.
"Step the fuck away," I hear a new, firm voice say.
Jesus, thank god Kita's here to save me.
"What the hell are you doing Jackson?" Liam growls.
"Back off, all she's doing is defending her friend," Jackson puts Liam's hand down and faces everyone. "Well, what are you guys waiting for? Carry on."
Everyone disperses and I walk Mary back to where Celina and I were sitting.
"Thanks for that, I guess," Mary says.
"No problem. I'm gonna get a drink now though, I'll catch up with you guys later, alright?"
"Yeah, see you boo," Celina waves.
I walk over to the drink and food bar and get a can of some brand of beer. It doesn't taste very good, but I finally feel myself feeling giddy.
[ I don't condone underage drinking pls don't do that :) ]
