Diagnost

My heart was pounding. I tried to keep myself calm.

"LJ" Cody said

"Let me call you back in a bit"I said

"Alright" He said disappointment

I hung up the phone. No this cant be happening! She was just fine when she left. My wife, my life is... I cant handle being away right now. I need to fly out to Kansas City. I was walking back and forth in the lockerroom. I was in deep thought when i didnt realize Sean was calling me.

"LJ" He shouted

"Uh.. yeah" I hesitated

"Are you ok bud"

"Its Jade" I stuttered

"What about her"

"She had a incident. She fainted but I didnt hear the entire thing. Because I was to upset to hear the rest. I shouldve went with her. I shouldnt be here in Demoise. I should be in Kansas City"

"Than go. She needs you LJ. I'll let these guys know you cant ride tonight"

"Thanks bud"

"No problem"

I changed my clothes and packed. I rushed out of the arena. I made my way back to the airport. I bought my plane ticket to Kansas City. I use this time to call Cody. Before I did, I took a deep breath.

"Hello" Cody said

"Hey. Hows Jade"

"Shes sleeping right now. Were waiting for the blood work to come back. They did a CT Scan and MRI on her but everything is ok. I'll keep you updated"

"Ok. Did you let mom and dad know"

"Nah. I'll tell em when we get the results"

"Ok. Im flying out that way right now. I should land in two hours"

"Alright."

I hanged up and boarded my flight. I put my phone on airplane mode. I listened to my music. Every song that played reminded me of Jade. I prayed that its nothing serious. I relaxed my mind.

*Two hours later*

I landed in Kansas City. I turned off my airplane mode. I waited outside for a cab. Thank god there was not a long line. I told the cab driver to take me to the hospital. I texted Cody.

'Hey Im down stairs. Can I have the keys, so I can leave my stuff in there'

'Yeah. I'll be down in a second'

I paid the cab driver and got my stuff out. I waited by the front entrance for Cody. He came walking out. I grabbed my stuff and followed him. They didnt park far. I hurried and put my bags in the back seat. Then we walked back in the hospital.

I walked into the room she was in. She was sleeping. She had an ivy injected in her. I sat beside her and held her hand. Making out wedding bands cling. I didnt say anything to her. I sat quite next to her. Cody and Luke went to go check on the horses.

I had my head down on the bed. I continue to pray. Hoping she will be ok. With the doctors taking forever to get the results, made me nervous even more. Then there was a knock on the door.

"Hello. Im doctor Jensen"

"LJ. Jade's husband"

"Oh. We have her blood results. How familiar are you with her families medical history."

"Not very much. As far as I know her mom has high blood pressure. Her dad is a diabetic"

"Well Jade has been diagnost with Diabetes"

The moment I heard that, my heart sank. How can this be? Shes healthy! She keeps herself healthy! I see her eat healthy every day and exercise.

"Im sure your wondering how. It dont always has to be through sugar. It can run through genetic wise. How old is she"

"Twenty six"

"Yea. Normally they can be diagnost at any age. From the results I have, she has been a diabetic for quite some time now. She is a type two."

"Meaning"

"She has to give herself a shot of insulin every day. But will keep her here over night for observations"

"Ok. Thanks doc"

Then he walked out. I sat back in the seat. I held her hand back in mine. She slowly started moving. I look up and she was awake. She faced my direction and smiled.

"What happened" she asked

"You fainted babe. Cody called me and told me everything. From what I was told just now. You're a diabetic" I said

Then she turned her head away. I knew she was hiding something during our honey moon. I just couldnt figure this one out now.

"Babe. Why didnt you tell me" I asked

"Its not a big thing"

"Big thing? Jade you lied to me about your diagnost"

"I was gonna be gone for six months. Having me telling you I have been diagnost with diabetes was gonna put a lot more stress on you. I dont want to do that"

"Still. I am your husband. I deserve to know whats going on with my wife. Jade I love you. Just please be honest from here on out"

She didnt say anything. She rolled on her side, having her back turned against me. I walk outside. I slid down against the wall. I had my hands resting on my knees. Why is she lying to me? Why cant she tell me everything? What is it about me that she is afraid to tell the truth? All these questions floating around in my head is giving me a head ache. I take a short walk. I walk outside, feeling that cool breeze on my face. I sit on the bench outside. Thinkin where did we go wrong? Where is the trust? Where is the honesty she wanted? I look down at my wedding band. Every time I look down at it, a weak smile appears. Reminding me that I have a wife to take care of. Im not backing down.
