Dad.

Gunshots are loud
To those In the army
Door slams are loud
To kids in the family

There eyes closed tightly
Wishing for it to stop
Because once their family was so lovely
But that's just because nobody knew what dad was on.

He just comes home late at night
Once in awhile comes into there rooms
And says goodnight, closing the light
Locking himself back in his room

They said to give it time
And itll be okay
But all they hear are lies
And that's all they'll ever say

But they guess one day
They'll be happy again
They'll believe what they say
In hopes to find sunshine instead of rain.
