Chapter 8
You silently walked through the forest, listening as you started to finally hear water. As the sounds got louder, you thought, “I’m almost there...what are they doing all the way out here anyways??? I thought we were suppose to have another meeting tonight, but we always have those in the kitchen at the house anyways.” You finally came upon the lake, and noticed a bunch of candles on the ground, heading towards the north, and what looked like a brightly lit area further down the lake.
“Guys, are you here? Hellllllloooooo?” You yelled as you walked towards area, unsheathing your dagger, ready for a fight. You came up to the area, wondering what was going on, when more lights a few yards away flashed on, and you heard a bunch of yells saying, “SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!” You jumped a little, noticing your whole little family smiling and standing next to tables filled with food and presents, and as they all rushed to you, Toby ran up and hugged you, whispering in your ear “Happy b-bir-birthday, (y/n).” You couldn’t help but blush, trying to figure out how they found out when Slenderman told you, “You have to remember I have telepathy, (y/n), and it’s hard to ignore someone’s thoughts when those thoughts are being constantly thought.” You blushed harder at this, noticing that you had been thinking about it a lot lately as Toby carried you to the table, setting you down at the head of the table, which had two seats at it.
Everything started to become a blur after that. Toby sat next to you at the head of the table, and you all had an amazing meal, and tons of cakes and ice cream too. Then came the time everyone was ready for; present time. You watched as Toby and Ben lugged a giant box over towards you, giggling a bit as you realized it was the same box they had been carrying this morning. Toby kissed your cheek softly after they had put it down, saying, “T-this is a pr-present from a-a-all of us. We all h-ha-have personal pr-presents to give to you t-t-too.” You blushes hard as you stood up and yanked on the ribbon holding the box together, then gasped and squealed when you saw what it was. It was your own armor mannequin. Everyone else in the family had one (except for Slenderman), and it held onto their armor/clothes and weapons they used on jobs when they weren’t in use. Everyone else’s mannequins back at the house had different colors of wood, but the wood on yours was the perfect color, (y/s/c), and it even had a compartment in the chest to hold onto smaller things, and moveable joints, so you could make your mannequin pose. You hugged everyone after seeing the present, smiling all the while.
Afterward, everyone came forward with their smaller gifts; EJ gave you a new kitchen set, saying he knew you loved to cook a lot and would probably need them; Jeff, a new knife sharpener for your dagger; Ben, a new Xbox and a bunch of video games; Sally, a new cute skull necklace; Masky and Hoodie got you a new bow care kit so you could fix your bow if it broke; Laughing Jack, a new make your own candy set, with some smelless, tasteless poison for the set as well; and finally Slenderman, who gave you a beautiful black metal bracelet. Toby walked up to you giving you a hug as he told you that you would get his present later, and as the party went on, you wondered, “what does Toby have planned now?”
