" How long ?!" Me and Tony shout at Fury over the intercoms. Tony gets smashed to the ground again.
"Three minutes. Max. It can wipe out the whole of mid-town," Fury admits sadly as I knock the Chitauri out with my head.
"JARVIS, put everything we got into the thrusters," Tony instructs as I see him shoot off , blasting Chitauri on the way.
" I just did." Tony blasts away more warriors and flies off elsewhere.
The jet fires the nuke towards the city and turns around as if nothing has just happened.
"Package is sent. Detonation in two minutes, thirty seconds. Mark." He informs and heads up to SHIELD Helicarrier. I run and join Cap and Thor as we throw our weapons into Chitauri. We all catch our respective weapons as they fly back to us. We turn and fight off Chitauri warriors. All of a sudden, Cap is shot in the ribs and drops to the ground.
" Steve !" I shout but fortunately it only grazed him. Thor sends a car rolling towards some of them and them throws Mjolnir in the other way. I help Steve to his feet after making sure he was okay.
"You ready for another bout?" Thor gests , patting Steve's shoulder.
"What?! you gettin' sleepy?" Steve teases and Thor smiles.
" I like this one," he whispers to me as Steve looks at the top of Stark tower.
" Thor ! Steve! I have to go ! There's a missle headed straight for the city!" I exclaims . As I am about to leave , someone grabs my wrist.
" No Cali don't go please," Steve pleades, tears in his eyes. I tear up and flick my wrist from his grasp," I have to." I say before bolting off , leaving a distraught Steve behind. I feel bad and blink tears away.
Natasha has retrieved Loki's sceptre and Selvig is setting up his equipment to save New York from the Chitauri, little did they know about the missile. He points to the device that opened the portal.
"Right at the crown!" Selvig commands. Natasha begins to force the sceptre through the barrier surrounding the Tesseract, it's hard to break but it pushes through.
"I can close it. Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down!" Natasha bursts happily , holding the sceptre in place.
"Do it!" Steve shouts sadly , still looking in the air for me and Tony.
"No, wait," Tony says over the intercoms. I begin to see the outline of his suit as I speed up to him.
"Stark, these things are still coming!" Nat exclaims looking at the more Chitauri flying down.
" I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute," Tony exclaims and Natasha awaits for more commands. I catch up to Tony.
" Use a hand ?" I say as we fly toward the missile. It zooms past us as we both do a U turn and go after it.
" No no , go back down , I don't need you dieing!" Tony shouts as he grabs hold of the missle and I grasp the missle as well , we redirect it toward the city.
" And you can't die either... together ?" I whisper sadly , realising that we've come to the end.
" Together."
" We know just where to put it , Nat ," I command as she waits for the signal to close the portal.
"Guys , you know that's a one way trip," Steve cries as tears run down his face. He catches onto our plan.
"Save the rest for the turn J," Tony says to Jarvis.
"Sir, shall I try Miss Potts?" Jarvis inquires.
"Might as well," Tony mumbles as we gain altitude.
As Jarvis rings Pepper Potts, Tony's girlfriend, I go on a separate and private communication call with Jarvis.
" Miss Cali , I suggest this is important as you've put it on private," Jarvis announces in my earpiece.
" Jarvis , as soon as me and Tony fly through the portal, I want you to send Tony back down to the ground, safely . Don't let him come back after me," I instruct.
" As you wish , but what about you ?" Jarvis accepts but sounds confused.
" I don't know ." I close the communication.
"Streets in New York City have become a battle ground. The army is here trying to contain the violence but clearly it is outmatch-" a reporter states as her phone starts to vibrate. She ignores it. Fury and most of the other workers are watching the same report back at the Helicarrier.
"...Billionaire Tony Stark's Iron Man and The Asgardian goddess of fire-" she continues as we fly higher. People gaze as me and Tony fly with the missile. As we fly by, Thor and Cap look to the sky thinking hard.
" Ready ?" I ask as we force the missile up to the portal , it barely misses Stark Tower. The rest of the Avengers look on.
" Ready !" Tony shouts and gives a thumbs up quick as we shoot through the portal. Now is the waiting game of survival or death. Everyone on the helicarrier cheers in excitement. Fury smiles but it quickly fades , now awaiting the two members of his team to return.
Me and Tony let the nuke go as all the lights in his suit flicker.
" I'm sorry, Tony," I whisper and kiss the side of the helmet.
" Jarvis! Now !" I shout as Tony looks in confusion as his suit takes control of him and guides him back to earth.
" Cali !" Tony pleaded over and over again until his voice fades away. The tears slipped down my cheeks and I turned to watch as the missile hits the Chitauri mother ship and it explodes with a loud bang. The Chitauri warriors collapse, and the Leviathans fall from the sky. Thor and Cap look around as they do , relieved. Tony flys back through the portal to earth as my eyes close happy as I fall slowly toward the portal. Natasha stands waiting.
"Come on, guys..." Nat sighs as she taps her foot. The Avengers see Tony come back and cheer, little did they know that I was still up there.
"Close it," Steve sighs happily , the battle is over or so he thinks. Natasha nods and plunges the scepter into the heart of the device. Tony lands as Steve and Thor look in confusion.
" No ! Don't close ! Cali's still up there !" Tony screams as he throws his helmet off. Tears are pouring out of his eyes. Panic races through the avengers.
" What ?!" Thor, Steve, Clint and Nat say in union.
" It's too late, I've shut it down...I'm sorry!" Nat cries , now fearing for me.
"Come on....please,please,please..." Tony mutters, pressing his hands together. Just as the portal closes, I fall through back to earth. The Avengers look up and see me reappear.
" Y...Yes !" Nat sniffles happily as I fall back through.
" Oh thank god," Tony sighs as he watches me . The portal closes up , revealing the light blue sky once again. I plummet towards the ground.
"She's not slowing down!" Thor announces as he prepares to fly at me. Out of nowhere , Hulk grabs me out of the air and slides down the building and crashes to the ground infront of Steve, Tony and Thor. I feel Hulk throw me off him and Thor , Tony and Cap run over. Thor moves the hair out of my face as Steve listens for a heartbeat he shakes his head frantically at Tony and Thor.
Tony checks again and sees that there is in deed no heartbeat. They panic and Steve lowers his head , crying. Tony is about to perform CPR when suddenly the Hulk roars and beats his chest. My eyes flicker open, shocked, and I breathe in a big gulp of air ,looking around. The Avengers sigh in relief as they embrace me in a hug.
"What the hell? What just happened? Tell me who kissed me?" I blabber out as they laugh. Steve looks around.
"We won," Steve says and kisses me lightly on the lips. I smile.
"Alright, Yay! Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. You ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it," Tony announces as he helps me up and hugs me tightly, not seeming to let go.
" Good idea , lets go !" I say but Thor stops us as we are about to leave.
"We're not finished yet," Thor says as we race to Stark tower. Me and Tony pout.
"And then shawarma after?"
