I wake up this morning with the sun shining bright in my face. My window was behind my TV and the sun was directly at the top, beaming. I got out my bed and got ready for school. I put on my black Roca Wear shirt, white cargo shorts, and my black high top Air Force shoes.
I walked into the kitchen at 7:05. My dad was still sleep. I fixed me a bowl of cereal and sat at the table. I ate and waited for 7:30.
I grabbed my car keys, book bag, and walked out the door. I got in my car and drove to school. I got to school at 7:50. I parked my car in the senior section.
The school was a nice size. It was made out of bricks. The whole school was a brownish-red color. It had blue poles around the building. The sign was in front of the school.
I got out the car and walked inside the building. I went to the front office. There was a glass window with a small opening. A brown skin women with her hair pulled into a tight ponytail was behind the glass. I walked up to the glass.
"Excuse me?" I spoke. She looked up at me and smiled. "I'm Dawayne Jones. I'm a transfer from North Atlanta High School."
"Oh yes," she said in her raspy and sweet voice. She went to some other back office. She came back with some papers. "Here's your schedule, the handbook, bell schedule, and a paper about our rules." She passed me the papers.
I took them. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. Welcome to Escambia High School. Home of the Gators. You're going to enjoy it here."
I smiled. "Thank you. I'll keep your words in mind."
I walked away. I looked at my schedule. It was the second week of school. The bell ring at 8:20 and class start at 8:25. So we have 5 minutes to get to class. It was 8:15 so I had 10 minutes to do whatever. I'm going to go ahead and find my classes for I won't be lost and looking stupid.
10 Minutes Later
Dinggggg!!!
The bell rung for us to start walking to class. I walked to my 1st period class, English. A tall pale man, that look like he was in his mid-40's was straighten up his desk when I walked in. He had black and grey hair and wrinkles on his face.
I walked up to him and made sure I wasn't in the way of the other students walking in. "Hey, Mr.," I look at my schedule for his name. "Gibson. I'm Dawayne Jones, transfer student."
He grabbed his roaster, I guess, and looked at it. He searched for my name. "Ahh, I see it. Welcome to the school. Take a seat anywhere," he said.
I nodded my head. Then I turned to find a seat. The desks were in 6 rows with 5 desks in each one. The classroom had a lot of words on the wall. Obviously because it's a English class. He had a few Alabama football team signs up there, too. He seems boring.
I sat down in the 4th row in the last seat. I put my book bag on the desk, grabbing my notebook and anything else I needed. While I was putting my book bag down on the floor, I noticed on the left side of me a full face brown skin girl with black hair down to her neck. She has nice, full eyebrows, long beautiful eyelashes, and her eyes are a gorgeous dark brown color. Her hair was so fluffy. She had a little bang over here her left eye. It was like a little sweep. She was beautiful, gorgeous. I couldn't take my eyes off her.
She was writing something down. Seems like she was thinking pretty hard. She put her pencil down and sighed. She move her hair more behind her ear. She noticed me starring and turned her head more my way. She smiled at me.
I smiled back. "Dawayne Jones," I introduced myself. "I'll rather go by DJ though."
"Tiffany Grand." Her voice was high and sweet. It was so relaxing. It was like sweet jazz music playing while you try to fall asleep.
