Outside the FAYZ

Chapter 28

"Welcome to Whaterburger, may I take your order?"the cashier asked Diana. Diana's eyes scanned through the menu. She couldn't make up her mind on what to pick, so she selected a big barbecue chicken hamburger with a large order of fries. To top it all off, she ordered a large strawberry smoothie. She turned around to find a seat. Diana strolled over to a booth in the corner, where she can eat alone with just her, and her thoughts. She sat in the booth and was wondering about Caine's existence and about the hell she would receive once she returned to Sam's house, when a boy, no more than fourteen, walked into Whaterburger, wearing a FAYZ shirt. The shirt read, "The Freaks are Out Among Us!" It had a picture of a dome in the front. She glared at the boy. She hated all the shirts and propaganda that nearly all the companies in America, created about the Fayz. There were shirts, hats, sweaters, and just about any type of clothes you could think of, that said something about the Fayz. Hell, Diana once saw a pedestrian at the beach wearing a Fayz swimsuit. She hated all that bullshit. Especially the first few weeks out of the Fayz. It was a pandimonium. Sam, Astrid and Diana literally had to stay in their house to avoid all the news vans, reporters, and helicopters that encircled their house 24/7. Eventually, everything settled down. Still, there were some people, like the kid, who wore things about the Fayz. Diana had always hated all that. Even when Astrid wrote her book, Diana didn't mind the book, but all the comments and lies and stuff, that's what really ticked Diana off. Now she just avoided anyone who had anything something about the Fayz that was offensive. She smiled as she tried to picture Caine's reaction to all this stuff. She laughed, as she pictured Caine yelling and cussing people off. Her thoughts were inturupted by the waiter as he brought her food. She devoured the entire meal. After the Fayz, she never took food for granted.
