Jughead  must have noticed me tense up, because he grabbed my hand.
I scooted  back up against the wall. My eyes on her the whole time.
Jughead: Betts, who is that?
Betty: My- my mom.
JUGHEAD POV
I didn't  know the woman who walked in until betty told me it was her mom.
I immediately went into over protective mode. Betty told me her mother's name was Alice.
Betty: M-Mom, what are you doing here?
Betty sounded scared.
Alice: I came to see my daughter.
I think you lost the right to call her that. I thought.
Betty: You abandoned  me. Mom.
Alice: You watch what you say Elizabeth.
I looked at Betty, seeing a look I know all to well. A look of fear, and the look  knowing you just messed up. Regret.
 Betty: I'm sorry mom.
Alice: That's  better... and who might  this be.
Betty looked at me.
Jughead: I'm jughead. Bettys friend.
Alice: I'm shocked you've  made a friend already. Elizabeth.
Betty looked zoned  out having flashbacks. She didn't  answer her mom.
Alice took a step closer causing betty to snap back into reality as she took in a sharp breathe and scooted closer to me, but also behind me. Betty started trembling.
Alice: Wait, you didn't  tell him did you?
Betty was silent for a moment. Before Alice  stretched her hand back and went to slap betty. I grabbed her wrist.  Betty jumped, and flinched.
Then we heard the door open.
I let go of Alice's wrist.
Sister woodhouse: What is going on here?
Alice: I was just coming to see my daughter. Is that a problem?
Sister woodhouse: no, I thought I heard  something it must have been nothing.
Alice: We were just  talking.
Sister woodhouse: Alright then if everything is ok In  here then I'll let y'all finish up.
She closed the door and Alice turned back to me.
Alice: How dare you. Jug-head.
Jughead: Well I can't help it if my reflexes kick in.
Alice: You are so sarcastic aren't you.
Betty: Mom.
Alice: What Elizabeth?
Betty: I think you should go.
She said still hiding behind me.
Alice: Are you backtalking  me?
Betty: no I-
Alice: Do I need to get you father in here? Cause I'm  sure he would love to see his lovely  daughter.
Betty: No ma'am.
She said looking down at the sound of her mom mentioning her father .
Alice: I thought so.
She turned to leave. She was almost out the door, when she started slowly  walking back smiling.
Alice: Betty I have a surprise for you.
Betty looked up with tears in her eyes.
A man walked through the door.
Betty: dad??? W-What are you doing here.
Betty looked even more scared. If that's even possible. She told me her dad's name was Hal.
Hal:  I'm sorry betty. I never meant to hurt you.
BETTY POV
My mom walked in then my dad. Why.
He never meant to hurt me?
Betty: How can you say that? 10 times in the past two weeks  dad, but yet you never meant to hurt me?
Hal: Does he know. How many people did you tell Elizabeth?
I was silent. Jughead looked at me. My dad took a few steps closer to me. I moved further away, but I couldn't.
Hal: Really your  that scared of me. Wow.
Betty: I'm-I'm  sorry dad.
Hal: You are so worthless!
JUGHEAD POV
He called her worthless. She is not  worthless. In any way.
I couldn't take it anymore. I've  been biting my tounge, but he crossed a line.
Hal: You got something to say boy.
Jughead: Why do you call her worthless, didn't  you just  say you didn't mean to hurt her and plus, yall  dropped her off here right?
Betty: Jug, please drop it.
Jughead: Sorry Betts.
Betty: It's fine.
Hal: That's sweet. You two protecting eachother. So what are y'all dating now?
I looked at Betty. She blushed a little.
Hal: You worthless slut.
Alice: You've  been here for two days. And already getting into trouble. I oughta take-
Jughead: I thought yall care about her?
Betty: Jug-
Hal: Are you talking back to me?
Betty: Please just stop the-
She was cut off by the  slap of her mom and dad the punched, by her dad.
Jughead: Stop hitting her. She did nothing to you!
Alice: You have some nerve-
Hal: Agreed.
Jughead:LEAVE!!!

They went from hitting me. To hitting  him.
