14) It's Complicated

After a couple of days , it was finally the time to leave California. I was glad because that place had become a nightmare for me .

All of us acted as if we were fine but we all were broken from inside . On our way back to home , none of us even bothered to talk to each other .

It was a quiet and a windy ride .

The day I reached home , without talking to anyone I just closed myself inside the four walls and slept all day and night to avoid people and situations .

One morning mom came to me and told that there was someone at the door , she had never seen him before .

I went down and saw Chris waiting in the hall .

"What are you doing here ? Listen we cannot talk here , come outside ." I said to Chris .

We walked to the backyard and found a place where no one could hear or keep an eye on us .

"Ellison , I know you are angry, you don't want to listen anything but I also know only you can believe me . Just give me a chance . I swear I will walk away after that . Please !"

"Okay , Speak ."

"I loved Amy and I still love her . I made a mistake which is unforgettable and unforgivable. But I just want to let her know that I didn't do it on purpose . There was a reason ."

"Reason ? You kissing Amy's classmate had a reason? Oh come on Chris , you can't cover it . You have broken her heart. Do you even know the meaning of trust ? That's what is expected in a relationship ." I said to him .

"Nancy , our classmate is not my girlfriend."

"What ?" I exclaimed .

"She is nothing to me . She was ! Nancy was my best friend , we were family friends . I knew she liked me but I made it clear to her that I liked Amy ."

"Then ? Then what happened ?" I asked .

"She never got jealous or never complained . We continued to be friends . One day she came to me . She was down and upset . She almost cried , she said her boyfriend cheated on her and she wanted to take revenge ." told Chris .

"Don't tell me , no please , don't tell me you helped her ." I said .

"Yes I did , and I regret it. I said no to her but she wanted to click a ...."

I cut him in between and said - "the picture in which you two were ..." I stopped .

"Yes , she asked for that kiss . I knew it was wrong , I knew it was inappropriate and I knew I was committed to someone else , but she had never asked me anything in her life . Being a friend I never did anything for her , she expected things from me which I could never give to her ."

I knew Chris was speaking truth . He continued-

"I knew I should have stopped her . But I couldn't see her like that . I don't know how I agreed ."

"You know that photo almost got viral . How can you agree to such stupid ideas Chris? " I was going crazy hearing him.

"Ellison we had this deal , that the picture was supposed to reach only to his boyfriend -Jacob , no one else . But I don't know how it got leaked . After that I never had a word with her . We are not on speaking terms ." said Chris .

"Wait ,Jacob ? What is his full name?" I asked .

"I guess Amy knows that guy . Jacob ....
Jacob Johnford ."

I was caught off guard . I repeated myself - "Are ... are you sure ? It's JACOB JOHNFORD ? Jacob ... he has a girlfriend ! Nancy ?"

"Yes , I don't know about their current relations . But all I know for now is that I want Amy , I love her and I want her back."

"Chris , I will help you . You were honest . But promise you won't fall for such things again and don't dare to repeat this mistake . I will talk to Amy . I believe she will also understand. Don't worry ."

"Thank you Ellison , thank you so much. Sorry for bothering you, now I'll just leave . Take care ." Chris had a huge smile of satisfaction on his face . He made a mistake, but he had courage to accept it.

But I was more worried about the game
Jake was playing with me . He had lied to me . Lied to everyone . But I didn't know why .

I was about to meet Jake to clear things out , when I received a call from aunty Mia - Hannah's mom . Hannah was admitted in the hospital . She tried to commit suicide . Her mom wanted me to be there .

I had tears rolling down . I left home for hospital . That time nothing mattered to me , not even her relationship with Drake .
