15) Let the truth sting

I was scared to step into the hospital .

When I was about to enter , someone pulled me aside. It was Jacob .

"Jake ! What's wrong with you ?"

"You are not needed here . Hanie has her family for her . Please go away !" said Jacob .

"Family ? I'm her family too . You can't stop me from meeting her . Your mom clearly said Hans needed me . So now , please move out of my way ."

"Listen , whatever is happening is your fault . Leave Drake and Hannah alone."

"Drake ? Is Drake in here ? What is he doing ?" First I was surprised , but I remembered that Hannah and Drake were together .

"Of course he will be here . His presence is most important. Now just go ! I don't know what sin Hannah performed to get a friend like you ."

"Before blaming me , just question your character first . You lied to me that you liked me . Why ? Do you have any acceptable answer ?"

"I do love you ." said Jacob . The way he was constantly speaking lies was provoking me to just punch him in the face .

"Oh shut up Jake ! I mean Jacob . You don't even deserve to be called Jake anymore ." I yelled at him .

"I'm serious !" He continued to lie .

"Who is Nancy then ?"

"N...Nancy . Oh so you know about it ." He stammered .

"Everything ."

"Fine . Nancy is my girlfriend." He finally accepted .

"Is ?"

"Yeah , I mean I know she won't come back to me . But I still consider her as the one ."

"You can't be a human Jacob . Playing with hearts ? Is that what you live for ?"

"I only care for Hannah ."

"Hannah? Please , I can't hear any more lies ."

"It's a long story . I don't have time for that ." he said . I knew he was avoiding me .

"Yes of course . Only have time to cheat on people , you moron ."

"ELLISON ! Enough . You want to hear the truth , then listen ."

Jacob was losing his patience . He knew deep inside that he was doing wrong . But he hesitated to tell the reason .

"Hannah liked Drake from the very beginning. She wanted to tell you but she said she wasn't sure . But I knew how much she was into him . Once I accidentally heard Drake talking to your picture , saying how much he liked you and how much you meant to him ." Told Jacob .

"Are you serious? Don't plot up a new story ." It was hard for me to believe him .

"Yes , I am. I got scared that Hannah will lose him . And so I made him believe that I liked you a lot and the rest you know ."

"Wait , what ? So you mean just because I can't come in Hannah's way , you pushed Drake away from me and started to make people believe about us . For even once you didn't thought about Nancy ?"

"See , I made it crystal clear that I'm doing all this for Hannah . I can't see her in pain ."

"Oh wow ! And what about the pain she would get when Drake will tell her the truth ? That he likes me not her ." I said .

"Yes , and you can see its result . She is in the hospital now ."

I soon realised that Hannah was crazy for Drake . She could do anything for him. He meant everything to her . Drake was stuck in between the mess Jacob had created . I knew he couldn't breathe and so did I .
