Takumi is now three days old. He is now at home with his parents and this is second day at his house. Cinder is still struggling to know what it's like to have a child and that they are not able to do simple task like communicate yet.

Cinder's POV

Cinder wandered into the nursery where a child no more than 3 days old was wailing.

"Hey, it's ok." Cinder cooed, "What do you need?"

Takumi stopped his wailing and for just a moment before he started up again with a quieter, whimper.

Cinder picked the crying infant up and held him to chest, proceeding her pleads and hoping all the noise would not wake up Kai. She couldn't find out what he wanted. "Please tell me what you want, Taku.

There was no answer, hint, or clue as to what she had asked. He just kept squirming and crying.

Cinder squeezed her eyes closed, "Please, talk to me Takumi."

Still just ear piercing screams and cries.

Cinder panicked, fearing that the noise would wake up Kai who also had an early morning meeting. "Hey Taku, you know it's rude to ignore someone's questions."

The door to the nursery slowly creaked open. Kai sauntered in, pretty much half asleep, rubbing his eyes. Their eyes made contact and the chaotic situation was newly cringy as well.

Cinder inwardly cursed. Aren't you supposed to know what to do when you're a mother? It's supposed to come and you are blessed with those motherly instinct things. Why don't I get those motherly instincts!?

"Kai he won't answer me? Why can't our baby talk?" Cinder whispered, her panic slowly leaving as she got up from the rocking chair and walk over towards Kai.

"Did you try feeding him?" He asked.

"No, Kai, I just looked at him and asked him what he wanted."

"Ha ha, very funny. But seriously did you change him, feed him, even just cuddle him and make faces at him to calm him down?"

"Kai, I asked what was wrong and he gave me no hint. He won't answer me! We need to calm him down and put him back to sleep."

"Cinder he's only a few days old." Kai took a deep breath in, "Are you... Are you expecting him to talk?"

"Yes. How long does it take!?"

"Babies are not born just knowing how to talk. Just like they aren't born with teeth. They need to learn how to speak."

Cinder raised an eyebrow, "Of course I know that, but how long is he going to be mute?"

"Months before ma or da, years before sentences."

Cinder passed the squirming creature to Kai and threw up her hands. "I am not good at being a mom. Thank the stars you are!"

Cinder watched Kai as he gently rocked Takumi back and forth. Soon, the crying had come to and end.

Cinder pressed her lips together. He had basically done the same thing. She had held their child close. She had rocked him in her arms. It was all a fluke or she had done something wrong.

Kai placed Takumi back in the cradle and they headed back to bed. They crawled under the warm covers together and settled into the soft mattress.

"Cinder?" Kai whispered.

"Hmm?"

"Maybe stop interrogating the baby."
