Takumi's POV
I got to go trick-or-treating last night! Mom and dad let me dress up as a crow, my favourite bird! It was so much fun too! I got to talk to so many people and I was able to run around making bird noises without my parents telling me, "Taku, you're not a bird." because last night I was a bird!
I cannot wait to eat all of my candy today. I got a lot, like, so much that I can probably give mom and dad a little bit.
I ran down stares this morning to the kitchen where I had stored my sugar haul, but when I got there my candy was all gone.
"Mom, dad! Where did all my candy go!?" I asked them as I started to panic.
"We're so sorry Taku. We only planned on having a couple pieces last night after you wen to sleep but, we accidentally ate all of it."
I couldn't have heard that right. All of my candy, gone?
At first I was super sad and disappointed, but then I remembered that mommy never got to go trick-or-treating. She told me she grew up in a tube and when she was taken out of the tube her step mother didn't let her go.
"It's okay mommy. I know you didn't get Halloween when you were my age. You were probably super excited about all the yummy treats that I got. I know I wouldn't have stopped either. There's always next year I guess!" I tried not to cry but I soon felt hot tears escape from my eyes as I smiled up at my parents who were eating breakfast at the table.
"So you're not mad?" Dad asked me.
"No. I'm not mad. I'm just a bit sad that you didn't save any for me." I was sniffling lots now. I really tried to stop crying but I was sad that I didn't have any candy anymore.
"I know you're only six but can't you get mad at us about anything?" Mom seemed almost confused at why I wasn't mad.
"Why would I? I love you and you take care of me. I can't get mad at you while you are the ones keeping me alive."
Mommy knelt down on the floor and pulled me into a hug.
"You're candy is in our room. All of it. I just wanted to see if there was any way to get you mad at us. You're like the perfect child, you know that right? We love you too. We'd never eat all of you're candy."
I smiled from ear to ear hearing that my precious candy was still waiting for me to eat it.
"You are the best parents ever!" I shouted as I escaped mom's hug and ran as fast as I could to their room and got my candy.
I ate a lot of it out of happiness and decided to save the rest for later. I did however give my mom and dad each some for being so amazing.
Next year I'm going to hide my candy before they can get to it.
