Adventures in Parenting With Cinder and Kai

Angry Radishes?

*Takumi is now about five years old and can mostly talk*

Cinders POV

After Cinder and Kai had Takumi, she decided she wanted to try and start up a new hobby, maybe something she and her children could do without them getting injured.

Gardening.

Cinder decided she wanted to try gardening.

She and Taku have planted many things in their garden. Flowers, strawberries (because he knows Auntie Cress loves them), carrots, radishes, and other veggies and fruits.

"Hey mom, can I go get some radishes fro the garden? They look ready." Takumi asked shyly.

"Of course. We can use them in dinner tonight." Cinder answered as she ruffled his hair. He quickly ran a outside to the garden.

Cinder was just inside watching the net because Iko was raving on about something that happened and apparently Cinder has to watch. She heard some muffled yelling coming from the garden. She peeked out of the window to her side and saw Taku standing over the radishes yelling at them!?

"What the...?" Cinder trailed off as she watched Taku get more and more frustrated at the poor radishes.

She ran to the garden, Takumi was basically screaming at this point.

"Why won't you FLY!?" Taku screamed and dropped to the ground in tears.

Cinder ran over to Taku, worried about him and his sanity.

"Why are you screaming at the radishes? Are you okay?" Cinder worriedly asked her distressed child.

"I just wanted to ride on a flying radish!" He cried out into his mothers shoulder.

Cinder clearly puzzled looked at the radishes and then back at her child.

"But Taku, radishes can't fly? Who gave you that idea?" Cinder asked.

"Uncle Thorne told me they could fly when they were angry and you could ride on them? Was he wrong again?"

Cinder picked him up and walked him inside. She sat him down on her lap and calmed him down. She explained: no, radishes cannot fly, and yes, Uncle Thorne was wrong again.

Cinder was starting to figure out a routine. When her child would try something (as long as it was harmless) that Thorne told him, she would calmly explain that his uncle was an idiot but he can't say that word around daddy.

Last time he was this upset was when Thorne had told him that when he went to sleep, his toys came to life and played games without him. He was up nearly all night crying because he wanted to play game and talk to his toys when they could actually answer and not have him put words in their mouth.

When Cinder woke up to the sound of her crying son she did the same thing as she did in the radish situation. She calmly explained to him that her uncle is an idiot and keeps trying tell him to stop believing everything he says.

She has talked to Thorne about what he is doing to Takumi a few times but I think she needs to bring it up with him when Cress is around so that she can make sure that he listens.

Hopefully he can stop distressing Cinder's son soon.

Sorry this one was short but I just felt like I had to update since it's been a while.
Thank you CosmicNovaFlare for having weird dreams and letting them inspire my writing.
