Light filtered in the window of the room covered in vines and wildlife. It shown bright enough that the woman woke from her sleep, turning over in the luxurious bed to see the white haired boy next to her, his eyes gazing at her.
"How long have you been awake, my love?" She asked.
He smiled, his black eyes glinting in the sun of her beautiful court, "Longer than I would like to say."
The woman lifted the sheets around herself, falling back beside him. He was so lovely, everything about him tempting the woman, "Why have you not slept?"
His gaze stayed locked on hers, daring her to look away, "She haunts my dreams. Her fiery hair whips in my face and I can smell her scent. She tempts me."
"You dream of her again?"
"I want her," the boy said, "I will not help you without my prize."
"And you shall have her," she said, whipping her hair across her shoulders, "All in due time, my love."
The boy smiled, his eyes giving away his giddy excitement. The woman almost feared for the girl, but ultimately, she decided it was too much of a hassle to fear anything, "I know you will not fail me, my beautiful one." He said, running a finger along a strand of her hair.
"We will win this war, it is almost at its end, and we will prevail." The war that one man had started and now it was up to them to finish it. And they would. The Shadow World would fall to its knees and they would be on top, ruling it side by side. The woman didn't need the boy's undivided attention like so many love-sick brats did, she only needed a partner, an ally in this war who would rule relentlessly with her.
"No," the boy said, his voice amused, "this war is only beginning."
