Mary Reagan watched her eight year old son try to do his homework at the kitchen table with his two younger siblings.
"What does bi-non-cu-lar mean?" Six year old Joe Reagan tried to pronounce 'binocular'.
"No idea." Almost seven year old Erin Reagan shook her head.
"Do you think I'd be able to catch a raccoon if I use peanut butter instead of vegetables?" Ten year old Danny Reagan wondered put of the blue.
Joe looked at what Danny was working on, "what does that have to do with history?"
Danny shrugged, "just thinkin' out..." something interesting caught the young boy's eyes. He stared at it, completely enthralled.
"What?" Erin asked, looking up from her English homework.
"What what?"
"You were saying something then stopped."
"What was I saying?"
Mary furrowed her brow; her oldest had always been like that- asking questions out of the blue, stopping mid-sentence because he saw something interesting, getting up and moving just because he couldn't sit still. "Danny? Can I see you for a minute?"
"Am I in trouble?" Danny jumped down from the chair.
Mary bit her tongue from laughing, "your Dad and I have been talking. We want to get you tested."
"For what?"
"To see if you're rapid!" Joe called from the other room.
"Joseph, this doesn't involve you!" Mary reprimanded.
"And it's rabid, butthead!" Danny yelled back. "Sorry," he shrugged when Mary gave him a face of disproval. "But you gotta admit, he's a butthead."
Mary scolded her son, "Danny. Don't call your brother names. You'll get tested tomorrow on some things, and then we'll see what's going on."
"Going on? And you just decided to tell me now? Don't I get a say in it?"
"No, you don't. The appointment's at 10:15."
Danny frowned, then smiled, "10:15? That means I get to miss school."
"Yes, you get to miss school."
"Will I get lunch? Cause, appointments go way too... um."
"Long?" Mary smiled.
"Yeah. Long."
"We'll see."
"Do you have any idea why a guy who makes bows started a war?" The ten year old asked sincerely. "I'm thinkin' that this Boer guy was mad at the people for doing bad things with his bows."
Mary looked utterly confused, "go read about the Boer Wars. You'll see they're nowhere near what you're thinking."

Danny bounced his knee up and down as he sat in the classroom-type room. The person who had given him his tests was now talking to his mom and Dad. He sighed and looked around the room for something to do. He found a very interesting pile of blocks which he assumed where for little kids. He looked around before going over to them, stacking them every which way.
A few minutes later, Danny was bored again. He found a tennis ball and started throwing it in the air. He missed the catch one time, knocking into the desk. The lamp tipped over, shattering in pieces.
Danny scrunched his nose and carefully put the ball down. He snuck back to his seat and waited for a minute or so before he was out of his seat again.
"Danny?"
He looked up and saw the person who gave him the tests and his Mom and Dad. "I didn't do anything."
The doctor smirked, "I'm sure you didn't. You've got an hyperactivity and attention disorder called AD/HD."
Danny nodded, not fazed by this news. "Okay. So... what? I gotta pop some pills or...?"
The doctor looked at Frank and Mary with a confused look on their faces. They didn't know where Danny was learning to talk like that.
Danny looked at the clock, "it's 12:00. Can I have McDonald's?"A/n
In one ep. of Blue Bloods Frank says Danny was a hyperactive kid, troublesome teen. My mind automatically thought AD/HD. The way he's impulsive in some eps makes me think that he could have some sorta ad/hd. I hope that's okay w/ people....
