"Yes but you need to add more color on this side." tells a teacher to the child.

You can take that simple so short story in 2 ways.
You can feel somekind of unworthiness because in times when we ask if something is okay, we ask of approval and it hurts when others just don't really like what we have done. Yeah, it's hard.
On the other hand, you can take what the teacher said as a direction, as a tip that we need to 'add more color on this side'
We may take this positively, that people are helping us to color that balck and white side of us.
Be positive always.
