On pointed toes,
She twirls elegantly in the center of the room.
Soft, delicate music echoes throughout,
Though her focus is only on the movements she learns.Light pink leotard and worn out shoes,
Is what she sees when she enters the empty space.
But on pointed toes,
She opens up a world of majestic fantasies. On pointed toes,
She closes her eyes and imagines,
That she is on a large stage that overlooked
A dim-lit filled audience. She isn't nervous as she begins to dance,
Her routine not faltering one bit.
She twirls and waves her hands gracefully,
As the audience watches with fascination.Toes straight, posture perfect, bend your knees a little
Beautiful costumes, hair into a tight bun, makeup naturally placed.
Shoes painful at times, but push through the hardships.
Still enjoyable none the least. As her eyes open, she releases the breath she held.
Knowing that there is nothing to worry about.
Something catches her eye,
A little girl sitting in the corner watching her in awe.The girl wants to be just like her,
Tall, beautiful, and graceful.
Dancing around on pointed toes,
Just like the professionals. Her dreams sore wildly amongst her thoughts,
As she imagines just like the older girl.
That her elegance and grace will shine,
On pointed toes.
